Oversee and execute core responsibilities essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards while upholding ethical business practices. Prepare and present detailed reports to stakeholders, offering actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

Develops contributions to the Employee Relations and Wellness HR Strategy that are specific to the assigned HR domain.

Implements Group HR policies, procedures, and processes pertinent to the designated HR function, as outlined in the Policy Execution Matrix, while offering staff and line management expert guidance on related matters.

Provide guidance on intricate employee-related issues, such as disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, and conflict resolution, ensuring the organization remains protected from potential legal and reputational harm.

Working collaboratively with the Forensic Department, relevant departments, line management, and staff, conduct or oversee investigations into disciplinary and grievance matters involving employees, ensuring thorough examination and timely resolution of each case.

Manage staff separation procedures and communication, ensuring that internal policies and related statutory requirements are observed/fulfilled.

Internally oversee litigation initiated against the Bank by former employees, which entails coordinating with the in-house legal team to obtain specialized legal counsel, compiling relevant case files and supporting evidence, and reaching out to witnesses to validate the Bank’s legal stance.

The role involves cultivating and sustaining relationships with both internal and external customers, stakeholders, and suppliers pertinent to the HR function, including Heads of HR Departments, Survey Consultants, Trade Unions/Committees, Medical and Wellness providers, and relevant industry bodies such as the Kenya Bankers Association and Federation of Kenya Employers. Additionally, the position requires engaging with Legal representatives, Functional Directors, Department Heads, Branch Managers, staff, and line managers to ensure alignment and collaboration across the organization.

Prepare thorough management documents, including reports, recommendations, opinions, briefs, presentations, proposals, and meeting minutes, all pertinent to the assigned HR domain.

Delivers comprehensive secretarial assistance to various business and staff committees, programs, initiatives, or forums within the assigned HR domain, including Disciplinary and Grievance Handling Committees, Job Description Document Appeals Committees, Union/Management Meetings, staff visits, and engagement forums.

Ensure the integrity and consistency of all data, records, and statistical information pertinent to your HR function.

Candidates must meet the following essential criteria to be considered for the role: a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in the specified field, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability to evolving priorities and a commitment to continuous learning. Additionally, prior experience in [specific industry or function, if applicable] is preferred but not mandatory.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required for this position.

A recognized professional qualification in Human Resources, such as a Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Postgraduate Diploma in HR—whether general or specialized—is an essential requirement for this role.

A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related business discipline is strongly preferred.

Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or a comparable discipline is required.

Employee & Industrial Relations (Minimum 4 years)

Professionals in Employee & Industrial Relations must possess at least four years of relevant experience to qualify for this role.

Disciplining and managing grievances requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience.

Under a minimum of four years of experience in Labour Law, candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of employment legislation and regulatory compliance. This role requires expertise in advising on legal frameworks governing workplace relations, including contracts, disputes, and employee rights. Responsibilities include ensuring organizational adherence to labor regulations, mitigating legal risks, and providing strategic guidance to management on employment-related matters. Proficiency in interpreting and applying labor statutes, as well as strong analytical and negotiation skills, is essential for success in this position.

Seasoned professionals with a minimum of two years of experience in People Risk Management are encouraged to apply.

With a minimum of three years of experience in people management, candidates should possess a proven track record of effectively leading and developing teams to achieve organizational goals.

Experienced professionals with a minimum of four years in relationship management are sought after for this role. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in fostering and maintaining strong client relationships, resolving issues efficiently, and driving customer satisfaction.
