Presently, Swiss contact is overseeing an extensive range of projects across multiple sectors, including Agribusiness, Eye Healthcare, Digital Skills, Green Skills, and E-Mobility entrepreneurship. Among these initiatives is Propel, a program dedicated to advancing youth skills development, improving employment prospects, and supporting entrepreneurship within the trades of electrical, plumbing, and lift mechanics.

General Position Summary

The Project Officer will facilitate the successful execution of the Future Fit Project by assisting in the delivery of high-quality activities spanning digital skills, green skills—particularly e-mobility—youth entrepreneurship, and employment. This position will supply operational, coordination, and technical expertise to guarantee that project deliverables are completed punctually, remain within defined boundaries, and comply with the expectations of donors, partners, and the organization.

This role seeks an independent, analytical professional with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and meticulous attention to detail. The successful applicant must adeptly manage project support alongside various administrative duties.

This position is situated in Nairobi, Kenya, and entails up to 30% travel to various field locations.

Oversee and execute a range of critical job functions that align with the organization’s objectives. Lead key projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and drive operational efficiency. Act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, maintaining clear communication channels to facilitate transparency and accountability. We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to oversee and execute the full cycle of project implementation, ensuring seamless delivery from initiation to completion. Assist in the formulation and advancement of project concepts, intervention strategies, and reporting mechanisms.

Integrate sustainability and market systems development principles comprehensively into all project activities to ensure alignment and effectiveness.

Collaborate with partners to develop operational plans, ensure quality assurance, and conduct impact assessments.

The role involves overseeing and assessing the effectiveness and impact of programs, initiatives, or organizational activities through systematic data collection, analysis, and reporting. Key responsibilities include designing evaluation frameworks, tracking performance indicators, conducting field assessments, and ensuring compliance with monitoring standards. The position requires proficiency in data management tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret results to inform strategic decision-making. Ensure that monitoring efforts adhere to established guidelines and support data-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Support the gathering, systematic arrangement, and verification of both quantitative and qualitative data obtained from partners, service providers, and beneficiaries.

Prepare the necessary data and documentation required for project reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables.

Develop comprehensive documentation that captures learning outcomes, success narratives, and best practices derived from implementation efforts.

Foster and sustain robust partnerships with key project stakeholders, encompassing government entities, private sector collaborators, non-governmental organizations, and local community groups.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, finance, or a related discipline, is required, along with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a comparable role. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities are essential to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
