General Position Summary

The Project Officer will facilitate the successful execution of the Future Fit Project by assisting in the delivery of high-quality initiatives spanning digital skills, green skills (particularly e-mobility), youth entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities. This position will deliver operational, coordination, and technical assistance to guarantee that project deliverables are completed punctually, within defined parameters, and in full compliance with donor, partner, and organizational standards.

The role seeks a forward-thinking individual with strong analytical skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with meticulous attention to detail. The successful applicant must adeptly manage project support alongside various administrative duties.

This position is situated in Nairobi, Kenya, with an expected travel requirement to various field locations, amounting to up to 30% of the incumbent’s time.

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and assessing the efficiency, effectiveness, and impact of programs through systematic data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role involves designing and implementing monitoring frameworks, conducting evaluations to gauge project outcomes, and ensuring data integrity across all initiatives. Key duties include tracking performance indicators, identifying trends, and providing evidence-based recommendations to enhance decision-making and improve program delivery. Partner with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist to design monitoring tools and measure impact outcomes systematically.

Assist in the ongoing oversight of project operations, deliverables, and performance metrics, ensuring compliance with the established Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework.

Provide support in gathering, structuring, and verifying both quantitative and qualitative data from collaborators, service providers, and beneficiaries.

Compile necessary data and information required for the preparation of project reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions.

Documenting learning outcomes, success narratives, and effective practices resulting from implementation activities is essential.

You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments and external partners to ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role requires exceptional communication skills to negotiate priorities, address concerns, and foster collaboration. Additionally, you will identify stakeholder needs, manage expectations, and provide regular updates to secure buy-in for initiatives. Collaborate with private sector stakeholders, including e-mobility enterprises, technology firms, and financial institutions, to enhance apprenticeship programs, test innovative training frameworks, and develop pathways for youth employment.

Engage in proactive collaboration with key ecosystem stakeholders, including industry associations and innovation partners, to ensure seamless alignment and synergy.

Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, NGOs, and community organizations.

Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project partners to ensure alignment and cohesion throughout the initiative.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data are essential. Prior leadership or project management experience is preferred.

A bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Education, Economics, Business, Engineering, ICT, or a closely related discipline is required.

Possesses a strong understanding of donor-funded initiatives and project management methodologies centered on measurable outcomes.

Requires a minimum of two to three years of hands-on experience in the facilitation of development initiatives, specifically within the spheres of youth employment, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (VET), digital proficiency, sustainability-oriented skills, or entrepreneurial ventures, across non-governmental organizations, public sector projects, or private sector engagements.

Proven ability to analyze complex information, maintain meticulous organization, and efficiently manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.

Preferred candidates will have prior engagement with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions, private sector collaborators, or youth-centered programs.

Professional certification in project management or monitoring and evaluation would be advantageous.
