Job Summary:

This role offers an exceptional chance to engage with a skilled Senior Finance Manager, reporting directly to the Finance Controller. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive leadership, strategic guidance, and operational oversight across the finance department. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee and manage the team of accountants.

Responsibilities and duties include collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on project objectives and deliverables, ensuring adherence to established timelines and quality standards. The role involves analyzing data and identifying trends to inform strategic decision-making, as well as developing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the position requires maintaining clear and consistent communication with stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and foster productive working relationships.

Oversee the accounting functions for the Group entity, encompassing Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), and Counsel, while also handling Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.

Compile and release accurate monthly financial statements in a timely manner.

Oversee the compilation and submission of regulatory filings to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Analyze and investigate complex technical accounting matters to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and standards.

Ensure the completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Oversee and maintain rigorous quality standards in financial transactions and reporting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Oversee tax risk and strategize tax planning initiatives to ensure compliance and optimize financial outcomes.

Ensure adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal government reporting obligations and tax filing deadlines.

To establish and maintain robust internal controls, design and document comprehensive business processes and accounting policies.

As needed, additional responsibilities related to the controller position may be assigned.

Seeking a candidate with a solid foundation of relevant knowledge, specialized skills, and hands-on experience in the specified domain. The ideal applicant must demonstrate proficiency in key areas pertinent to the role, complemented by a track record of successful contributions in similar positions. Essential qualifications include both technical competencies and soft skills, ensuring the ability to perform effectively in dynamic environments. Prior to work experience in comparable settings, along with relevant certifications or educational credentials, will be considered advantageous for fulfilling the outlined responsibilities.

ARCA or CPA certification is a mandatory requirement for this role.

A minimum of ten years of cumulative professional experience in accounting, finance, or audit is required.

A minimum of three years of professional experience with a Big Four accounting firm—specifically PwC, Deloitte, EY, or BDO—is required.

Demonstrates a strong grasp of tax law and accounting principles.

Proficiency in managing KRA tax audits and maintaining strong relationships with the Kenya Revenue Authority is essential.

Advanced degree required in accounting or a closely related discipline.
