The Role
Specifically, the ideal candidate must fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and manage daily facilities operations across all branches, offices, and support facilities to ensure seamless functionality and efficiency.
Implement and oversee scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance initiatives for critical building infrastructure, including electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing networks, fire and safety mechanisms, generators, inverters, cold rooms, hybrid inverters, solar systems, AIRS, UPS units, elevators, precision cooling systems, and water treatment facilities.
Maintain facilities in optimal condition, ensuring they remain secure and fully operational to support continuous banking services.
Oversee the management of contracts, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), while guaranteeing cost-effectiveness and maintaining high standards of service quality.
Ensure strict adherence to all applicable statutory, regulatory, and industry standards, including but not limited to OSHA, FEMA, Public Health mandates, fire safety protocols, and building codes.
Develop and oversee comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance and performance across all operational facilities.
Facilitate internal and external audits while driving the prompt resolution of all audit findings pertaining to facilities management.
Develop, oversee, and optimize annual facility budgets, financial forecasts, and cost-saving strategies.
Oversee facility expenditures, pinpointing avenues for cost reduction and enhanced operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include scrutinizing and approving facility invoices and payment requests to ensure strict adherence to approved budgets and contractual obligations.
Promote energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainability initiatives as integral components of facilities operations.
Assist in developing and executing Business Continuity plans with a focus on facilities and infrastructure considerations.
Compile periodic management reports detailing facilities performance, associated costs, compliance status, and risk assessments.
Interact with branch management, business units, regulators, landlords, and service providers to address facilities-related concerns.

The ideal candidate must possess the following key skills and competencies:
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline is required.
Professional certification, such as in Facilities Management or Project Management, would be advantageous.
Seeking candidates with three to five years of professional experience in facilities or property management, ideally within banking, financial services, or large multi-site organizations.
Demonstrates comprehensive expertise in the design, functionality, and maintenance of building systems and facilities operations.
Proven proficiency in overseeing contracts and managing vendor relationships is essential.
Proficiency in budgeting and financial analysis is required.
Proficiency in Kenyan health, safety, environment, and statutory regulations is required.
Proven ability to engage and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders through clear, concise, and effective communication.
Demonstrates exceptional aptitude for strategic planning, organizational coordination, and effective problem-solving.
