POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Coordinator oversees daily facility maintenance operations, ensuring buildings, water systems, grounds, furniture, nonmedical equipment, and waste management systems remain in optimal and safe condition across hospital premises. By collaborating closely with the Facility Manager/Director, they facilitate seamless upkeep of hospital facilities and infrastructure while assisting in the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, including building and construction initiatives.

Maintenance objects under the purview of the Facility Manager/Director are implemented as part of the operational framework.
Provide support in the strategic planning, development, and implementation of authorized construction and renovation initiatives.
Implement the maintenance strategy documented in the CMS (Computerized Asset Management System) and ensure its consistent execution, while providing support to the maintenance team to help them meet the facility’s maintenance objectives.
Serves as the organization’s internal auditor, responsible for evaluating and verifying the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all duties, assignments, and deliverables performed by external contractors.
Compiles comprehensive documentation for internal construction initiatives, including bills of quantities (BOQ’s), project plans, inspection reports, and handover documentation.
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing and sustaining the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), delivering instruction to system end-users. Each year, the role conducts a comprehensive audit of the system’s data and collaborates with the Facility Manager/Director to address discrepancies and ensure the accuracy and currency of the stored information.
Direct oversight and development of the maintenance team is required, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards for the upkeep of facilities and equipment.
Coordinates maintenance activities in collaboration with relevant departments to ensure seamless departmental operations and effective execution of maintenance tasks.
Assists the Facility Manager/Director in establishing and executing maintenance schedules for facilities and associated nonmedical equipment that are not covered by a service agreement.
The maintenance department oversees tracking all supplies, tools, and equipment to maintain accurate inventory records. Additionally, the role involves verifying that maintenance staff are equipped with and properly use the correct personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and supplies necessary to carry out their assigned tasks effectively.
Supervision of all contingent staff engaged in internal building projects is carried out to confirm compliance with the minimum standards outlined in the hospital’s employment policy.
Documents maintenance activities, achievements, and any reported incidents for review and oversight by the Facility Manager or Director.
Collaborates closely with the maintenance team to execute maintenance tasks effectively. Performs hands-on maintenance and construction duties, encompassing a wide range of systems and infrastructure such as buildings, water and wastewater systems, electrical systems, as well as furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE).
Supervises the maintenance and repair of associated tools and equipment, collaborating with skilled personnel or contracted vendors as required.
Maintains a current repository of equipment manuals and schematic diagrams provided by manufacturers, both in digital and hard copy formats.
Wears appropriate safety gear consistently throughout all task execution.
Proactively collaborates with colleagues to discuss equipment functionality, facility operations, and adherence to established protocols for their correct utilization.
The maintenance team’s performance is communicated to the Facility Manager/Director on a regular basis.
Develop and coordinate work schedules for teams, reporting to the Facility Manager or Director, ensuring alignment with operational needs and staffing requirements.
Ensures the proper storage, issuance, utilization, maintenance, and overall management of all tools and assets associated with hospital maintenance.
You must maintain on-call availability, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required.
Maintain strict adherence to all Health & Safety policies and procedures throughout all work-related tasks, ensuring the proper use and wear of required Personal Protective Equipment.
