Facilitate the seamless execution of activities within the Environment, Energy & Climate Change (EE&CC) Pillar to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Evaluate strategic areas where Equity Bank can capitalize to achieve its objectives in energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and climate action initiatives.
We are actively seeking strategic partnerships within the sector to enhance portfolio de-risking initiatives.
Collaborate with the Social Impact and Commercial departments on projects alongside energy and environmental conservation partners to ensure successful execution.
Facilitate the implementation of projects in collaboration with WASH partners, ensuring alignment with objectives set by either the Social Impact department or Commercial teams.
Assist the pillar lead in coordinating and overseeing the Pillar’s projects within each sector, ensuring they align with the Bank’s strategic objective of fostering business growth.
Collaborating with the pillar lead and Programs Manager, you will craft compelling project proposals and design tracking tools to ensure precise, timely impact monitoring reports are generated.
Support and enhance market, information, knowledge, and financial connections while fostering the development of business networks within the energy ecosystem.
Connecting energy partners with targeted sectors or specific individuals to enhance satisfaction levels in service delivery.
Coordinate and facilitate ESG-related capacity-building initiatives tailored for Equity staff, partners, and customers to enhance their knowledge and skills in sustainability practices.
Facilitate the optimal functioning of the EEC pillar to ensure its performance aligns with organizational objectives.
Execute any additional tasks or duties as directed by the line manager.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required. Minimum of five years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend or full-stack development being essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is mandatory. Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure, is highly preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments are critical. Familiarity with database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL, is necessary. Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are also required.

Education
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Energy, Climate Studies, Finance, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related discipline is required.
Outstanding proficiency in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication is required.
Experience
A minimum of three years of professional experience gained with a reputable organization, preferably within the energy sector, green projects, or sustainable finance.
