Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Head of Employee Relations, Performance & Wellness, this position plays a key role in developing and implementing people practices that foster a workplace characterized by fairness, inclusivity, and engagement.
This role encompasses fostering strong, positive employee relationships, upholding legal standards, managing performance effectively, and cultivating a values-driven organizational culture.
Oversee a range of critical operational tasks to ensure seamless workflow execution and adherence to company standards. Manage day-to-day activities with precision, prioritizing efficiency and accuracy in all deliverables. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align objectives, resolve challenges, and drive continuous improvement. Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain productivity and quality benchmarks. Employee Relations: Cultivating a harmonious and productive workplace environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and fostering open communication channels. Implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws, company standards, and best practices. Conducting thorough investigations into workplace grievances, disciplinary actions, or harassment claims to maintain fairness and integrity. Collaborating with management to develop and execute initiatives that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Providing guidance and support to supervisors and employees on workplace policies, performance expectations, and professional development opportunities.
Facilitate the creation, clarification, and dissemination of HR policies by ensuring they comply with Kenyan Labour Laws, meet regulatory obligations, and reflect the Bank’s values and governance frameworks.
Oversee employee relations functions encompassing disciplinary actions, grievance resolution, workplace conduct investigations, and appeal processes, while upholding fairness, uniformity, and adherence to established organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Prepare meticulous and verifiable records of employee relations matters in partnership with HR Business Partners and operational leadership, ensuring full adherence to established documentation standards and regulatory obligations.
Facilitate organizational change efforts, including restructures and branch realignments, while maintaining high levels of employee engagement, ensuring uninterrupted operations, and upholding regulatory compliance.
Offer strategic advice to managers on employee-related issues to ensure equitable, uniform, and regulation-compliant resolution while mitigating operational and reputational risks.
Serve as a panel member during disciplinary hearings, guaranteeing strict compliance with due process, procedural equity, and accurate documentation in alignment with internal policies and governing labor laws.
Develop and nurture relationships with employee representatives and workplace committees, ensuring open and clear communication while building trust and fostering teamwork to maintain a productive and regulation-compliant work environment.
Maintain accurate and confidential disciplinary records by proficiently managing the ER tracker, ensuring data is readily available for audits and informed decision-making.
Play a key role in the regular evaluation and revision of the HR Manual, maintaining its compliance with current employment laws, regulatory standards, and emerging trends in the banking industry.
Performance management involves overseeing employee performance through goal setting, progress tracking, and constructive feedback to enhance productivity and align individual contributions with organizational objectives. This role requires analyzing performance data, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to address gaps or improve efficiency. Responsibilities include conducting regular evaluations, facilitating development discussions, and collaborating with teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement. A strong understanding of performance metrics, coaching techniques, and performance improvement plans is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.

Co-create and execute employee recognition programs at the organizational and departmental levels, encompassing formal awards and peer-to-peer recognition initiatives, with the aim of fostering a high-performance culture.
Create compelling and lucid communication materials to promote employee wellness programs, share policy updates, and highlight engagement initiatives, while ensuring adherence to internal communication guidelines.
Drive tangible results that align with the Bank’s HR strategy, balanced scorecard, and individual performance targets while maintaining clear accountability and measurable impact.
Academic Qualifications should include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline, typically required from an accredited institution. A master’s degree or higher may be preferred, particularly for senior-level positions, though equivalent professional experience can sometimes substitute for formal education. Additionally, candidates may need to possess specialized certifications or training pertinent to the role, depending on industry standards. Proficiency in relevant technical tools, methodologies, or frameworks may also be expected, as outlined by the employer.
A bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, or a comparable discipline is required.
