Role Summary
The English Teacher will craft dynamic, inquiry-driven lessons to enhance students’ proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and critical reasoning. This position entails designing and executing IB-aligned curriculum, employing criterion-based assessments to measure progress, and nurturing a profound appreciation for language and literary works. Additionally, the teacher will facilitate comprehensive student growth, encourage autonomous thought processes, and help cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom setting.

Develop and execute comprehensive English lessons that strictly adhere to the rigorous academic standards set by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP).
Facilitate the cultivation of students’ proficiencies in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and literary analysis.
Encourage the development of analytical reasoning, innovative thought processes, and a deep respect for varied literary works and viewpoints.
Craft tailored educational experiences that accommodate varying student skill levels and learning styles.
Employ inquiry-driven and student-focused instructional methodologies to facilitate learning experiences.
Design and administer both formative and summative assessments in strict alignment with the International Baccalaureate (IB) criteria to evaluate student progress comprehensively.
Deliver prompt, actionable feedback while meticulously documenting student progress to ensure comprehensive tracking and assessment.
Facilitate student readiness for both internal and external evaluations, encompassing International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations.
Foster a classroom setting that ensures safety, inclusivity, and engagement for all students.
Serve as a Homeroom Tutor, providing comprehensive academic assistance and personalized pastoral care to students.
Enhance student engagement by actively participating in co-curricular initiatives, including debate, drama, and writing clubs.
Maintain consistent and meaningful interactions with parents via scheduled conferences and available communication platforms.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum frameworks and support school-wide initiatives.
The requirements
We are seeking candidates with a strong academic background in a relevant field, such as engineering, business administration, or information technology, combined with several years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Demonstrated expertise in project management, data analysis, or technical operations is essential, along with proficiency in industry-standard tools and software. Ideal applicants will possess exceptional problem-solving abilities, outstanding communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering measurable results. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, though advanced degrees or specialized certifications may be preferred. Familiarity with regulatory compliance, strategic planning, or cross-functional collaboration is a valuable asset.
A recognized university must award a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with a specialization in English, Literature, or a closely related field.
Candidates based in Kenya must possess valid registration with the Teacher’s Service Commission (TSC).
Possesses a proven track record of instructing in diverse, multicultural, and international school settings, coupled with a deep comprehension of student-centered, inquiry-driven educational methodologies.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of two to three years’ instructional experience in the IB Middle Years Program, the IB Diploma Program, or an equivalent curriculum, ideally within an international school framework.
