Position Summary
The ADT Africa Regional Partner possesses extensive knowledge of private equity within emerging markets, with a particular focus on regulated financial institutions pioneering digital financial services tailored to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), smallholder farmers, and low-income households.
A strong candidate will possess practical experience in utilizing technology to drive growth within financial institutions and will partner with ADT’s Operating Partner, Action Advisory, Action’s financial inclusion advisory team, and other expert groups to craft digitization strategies for businesses. This role involves engaging with shareholders, board members, and management teams of portfolio companies to foster alignment and execute strategic initiatives.
The Africa Regional Partner may oversee an Investment Analyst, with responsibilities tailored to the portfolio’s scale and regional prospects. Investments in Africa are projected to constitute approximately 25% of total investible capital, potentially encompassing co-investments from limited partners.
Responsibilities associated with this role include overseeing project timelines, coordinating team efforts to meet deadlines, and ensuring high-quality outputs through meticulous review processes. The position also entails collaborating with cross-functional departments to align strategic objectives, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and maintaining clear communication channels with stakeholders to foster transparency. Additionally, the role requires managing resource allocation efficiently, conducting performance evaluations for team members, and implementing process improvements to enhance overall productivity and efficiency.
In close collaboration with the Managing Partners, the Africa Regional Partner spearheads the complete investment lifecycle for the Africa portfolio, overseeing all stages from initial deal sourcing and thorough due diligence to final execution and strategic exit. Additionally, the role involves providing global support to the team as required. Central to this position are the following key investment processes:
Evaluating potential equity investment opportunities that align with ADT’s commitment to impact-driven investing and its strategic focus on digital transformation.
Developing and maintaining comprehensive financial models, projections, and valuations to evaluate potential equity investments and divestments while providing detailed reporting to limited partners.
Conduct thorough deal analysis and formulate well-supported investment recommendations for submission to the Investment Committee.
Leading the negotiation and finalization of deals, including the preparation and review of all legal documentation, while ensuring adherence to ESG policies.
Overseeing the equity portfolio and formulating and implementing responsible commercial exit strategies for portfolio companies comprises the core responsibilities.
Collaborate with the digital transformation team to formulate and execute a digitization strategy aimed at enhancing value creation for potential target companies.
Offer strategic guidance to portfolio companies, including cultivating strategic partnerships, securing new debt and equity financing, and contributing to key decisions—with a particular emphasis on ESG and digital transformation initiatives.
Serve as the designated representative of ADT on the boards of portfolio companies, as circumstances warrant.
Construct co-investment consortia and cultivate robust partnerships with co-investors to drive collaborative opportunities and mutual growth.
Deliver continuous assistance to the Operations and Finance teams regarding portfolio company valuation and reporting.
Collaborate effectively with Managing Partners to cultivate a compelling brand identity and foster a positive organizational culture, ensuring AIM consistently upholds industry-leading standards and best practices.
Assist in managing investor relations and conducting due diligence for prospective investors.
AIM will be represented locally in the African market and across global operations, engaging in professional development and knowledge-sharing initiatives both externally and within Action as deemed suitable.

Partnering with financial institutions to foster value creation, particularly through the design and implementation of digital strategies aimed at enhancing financial inclusion, is a key focus. Proficiency in innovation within financial inclusion initiatives is essential, and prior entrepreneurial experience is highly advantageous.
