Key Accountabilities:
Draft, prepare, and oversee contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance while facilitating negotiations and final approvals.
Deliver expert legal counsel on investment transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring initiatives.
Perform comprehensive legal due diligence evaluations on potential investments and prospective business collaborations to identify risks, liabilities, and compliance concerns before finalizing agreements.
Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies through diligent oversight and monitoring.
Facilitate corporate governance initiatives by overseeing board and committee-related activities and ensuring adherence to established governance frameworks.
Act as the primary point of contact and coordinate communications with external legal representatives, regulatory authorities, and relevant stakeholders regarding legal issues.
Responsibilities include the oversight and administration of legal records, contracts, and statutory registers, ensuring they remain current and accurate.
Perform comprehensive legal research and deliver prompt legal opinions regarding evolving issues impacting the organization.
Provide assistance to the Company Secretary as needed.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, finance, or accounting, along with at least three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Strong proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting tools is essential, as is the ability to interpret complex financial statements. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are required to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Candidates must demonstrate a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all financial processes. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards is also a prerequisite.
A Juries Doctor or equivalent law degree is required.
As a qualified legal practitioner admitted to the High Court, you will play a pivotal role in representing clients with unwavering commitment and legal expertise. Your responsibilities will encompass providing strategic counsel, preparing and presenting compelling legal arguments, and ensuring strict adherence to judicial procedures and ethical standards. Additionally, you will engage in extensive case analysis, draft precise legal documentation, and advocate persuasively on behalf of clients in court proceedings. Strong analytical skills, exceptional oral advocacy, and a deep understanding of substantive and procedural law are essential for success in this role.
A minimum of two years of professional experience gained following admission to practice is required.
We seek candidates with professional experience in either an in-house legal team or a high-volume law firm, with a strong preference for those specializing in corporate law, commercial law, litigation, and conveyancing.
