Role Description
We are seeking a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager – Pensions (Corporate/Retail) to be based in Nairobi County, Kenya. This position entails leading a team to uncover and capitalize on business prospects within the pensions sector, cultivating and sustaining robust client relationships, and devising strategic initiatives to enhance growth across both corporate and retail pension markets. Key duties include crafting and presenting proposals, executing comprehensive market research, evaluating industry trends, negotiating agreements, and partnering with internal departments to ensure client satisfaction and alignment with organizational objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in network administration is necessary. Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN management is essential. Experience with firewall configuration and security protocols is also required. Knowledge of industry-standard monitoring tools, such as Nagios or Rabbi, is expected. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for troubleshooting network issues. Excellent communication abilities are needed to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment is important. Familiarity with cloud networking services, such as AWS or Azure, is a plus.
Demonstrates a strong track record in business development, sales, or client relationship management within the pensions or financial services sector.
Proven expertise in conducting comprehensive market research, performing meticulous data analysis, and developing strategic plans.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong presentation and negotiation expertise, are essential for this role.
Proficiency in pensions administration, financial products, and regulatory compliance is essential. Familiarity with the operational, technical, and legal aspects of pension schemes, investment products, and applicable financial regulations is required.
Skilled in establishing and nurturing professional connections, along with expertise in networking strategies.
Capable of working autonomously while consistently achieving established performance benchmarks.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline is required (a Master’s degree is advantageous).
Experience with financial services or pension systems in Africa would be considered an asset.
