Oversee a range of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures that enhance productivity, compliance, and employee performance. Conduct regular assessments of team and individual progress, providing constructive feedback to foster professional growth and development. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline workflows, resolve challenges, and align resources with key business initiatives. Monitor key performance indicators to evaluate departmental effectiveness and recommend data-driven improvements where necessary. Maintain open communication channels to ensure transparency and accountability across all levels of the organization.

Deliver a full spectrum of outpatient and surgical eye care services with expertise and precision.

With a high degree of autonomy, the incumbent will execute cataract surgery procedures, including Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS) and Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS).

To uphold rigorous patient safety protocols, ensure superior surgical outcomes, and maintain meticulous documentation standards.

Engage actively in clinical governance initiatives, conduct comprehensive audits, contribute to continuing medical education (CME) programs, and lead or support quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and operational excellence.

Collaborate effectively with diverse teams across various disciplines to ensure the provision of outstanding patient care.

Seeking a professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, supplemented by a minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial analysis, reporting, or auditing. Proficiency in advanced Excel and financial software is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities are required to present complex financial information clearly. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and internal controls is highly desirable. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards is paramount.

MB ChB and Med (Ophthalmology) qualifications or their equivalent are required for this position.

Registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), this position requires a valid and current professional credential in good standing.

Proven proficiency in Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS) and Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) is required.

Proven capability to oversee ophthalmic clinics and surgical schedules with autonomy is required.

Highly developed clinical decision-making abilities, a commitment to maintaining professional standards, and exceptional communication skills

DESIRABLE

COE CSA Fellowship or an equivalent credential is required for this position.

A professional background in phacoemulsification is required, with hands-on experience in performing this surgical technique for cataract removal. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in managing the phacoemulsification machine, including ultrasonic energy modulation and fluidic control, while ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Familiarity with preoperative assessment, intraoperative techniques, and postoperative care specific to phacoemulsification procedures is essential.
