This role is responsible for ensuring Chief-Kenya adheres to all applicable Chief-Kenya, donor, and government regulations. To achieve this, the position will implement robust project management systems based on best practices, play a key role in designing internal controls for the ERP system, offer specialized guidance on donor requirements and regulatory mandates, assist in contract negotiations and reviews, and strengthen staff and business systems to maintain compliance with contractual and donor stipulations.

Under your purview as a member of the team, you will be tasked with overseeing a diverse array of duties while ensuring all objectives are met with precision and efficiency. Your responsibilities will encompass the execution of key initiatives, adherence to established protocols, and collaboration with cross-functional departments to drive cohesive project outcomes. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain rigorous standards of quality, monitor performance metrics, and provide timely reports to stakeholders. Problem-solving, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement will be essential attributes in fulfilling these obligations effectively.

To maintain robust internal control systems aligned with Donor regulations and Chief-Kenya policies.

Conduct thorough reviews of processes, practices, and documentation to systematically identify opportunities for enhancement.

Conduct quarterly reviews to ensure donor compliance, compiling and submitting a detailed report to the Board and CEO. This involves examining sample documents from Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants, as well as relaying any identified issues to the appropriate staff or departments for necessary corrective measures.

In partnership with the Board and CEO, deliver technical guidance or facilitate training sessions for all departments and staff regarding donor compliance matters.

Assist in the development of Internal Controls and enhance the finance, procurement, and reporting modules of the proposed Chief ERP system through ongoing refinements.

Enhance the development of internal controls within the ERP system by playing a pivotal role in their design and implementation.

Assist in developing Internal Controls and enhancing business systems and reporting elements within the Chief ERP system through ongoing improvements.

Play a pivotal role in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and maintaining up-to-date risk registers.

Perform required investigations when necessary.

We are seeking candidates who possess a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in the specified field, along with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline. Familiarity with industry-standard software, tools, and methodologies is essential, and prior experience in a similar role is highly preferred. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required to thrive in this dynamic environment.

A Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting or a related discipline, coupled with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification, is required.

Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor credentials, accompanied by at least eight years of hands-on experience in auditing, accounting, and ERP system deployment.

Proven expertise in conducting audits for projects financed by USAID/CDC and other development partners is required.

Proficient in both written and verbal communication in English.

Exceptional organizational capabilities, adept prioritization, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. Proficiency in collaborating with professionals from operations and finance backgrounds is also required.

Proficient in utilizing the full suite of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with advanced expertise in leveraging their advanced functionalities to enhance productivity and streamline workflows.
