The Medical Officer intern will operate under the guidance of senior professionals to meet the specified registration criteria. Ensure consistent and ongoing monitoring of patients within the designated departments.

Conduct or request pertinent investigations as instructed by supervisory staff to ensure thorough examination and resolution of assigned tasks.

Consulting with department heads, the Internship Supervisor, and other practitioners as needed, this role provides guidance on patient care matters to ensure alignment with organizational standards and best practices.

Effective collaboration with healthcare professionals is essential to maintain seamless continuity of care.

Engaging in surgical operations alongside seasoned departmental colleagues, while receiving guidance from senior staff members, is a key component of this role.

You will engage in clear and compassionate dialogue with patients and their families, ensuring they fully understand diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up requirements.

Crafting precise and insightful case summaries, referral documentation, and discharge summaries is essential to this role.

During ward rounds, grand rounds, morbidity and mortality audits, or other relevant forums, you will deliver cases with clarity, coherence, and professional competence.

Engage in clinical audit activities by utilizing the audit instruments supplied by the facility and accurately documenting your findings within them.

Assisting the Supervisor with completing all assigned tasks as needed.

Engaging in the Institution’s ongoing medical education programs, research initiatives, and innovation projects.

Delivering insights and evaluations to the Internship Coordinator, Internship Supervisors, the Institution, and the Council regarding the advancement of internship training aims to enhance its overall quality.

The position necessitates a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant field, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in project management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools is required, as is a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Holders of an MB ChB degree from a medical school accredited by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) are eligible to apply.

Securing a valid internship license issued by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) is a prerequisite for this position.

Holds a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

PALS, ATLAS, and ACLS certifications will be advantageous to candidates applying for this position.

Demonstrated completion of an elective rotation at a healthcare institution is required.

Proven expertise and hands-on experience in the field of Information and Communication Technology are required.
