Our client, a rapidly expanding mid-sized freight forwarding firm based in Nairobi, excels in coordinating air and sea cargo shipments from major international hubs such as Dubai, Guangzhou, London, Milan, Johannesburg, Istanbul, and Amsterdam. The company manages an impressive volume of 80–100 tonnes of air freight each month, encompassing both commercial and personal consignments, while processing one 40ft container on a daily basis. With a commitment to operational excellence, they deliver comprehensive, end-to-end logistics solutions, ensuring full visibility from warehouse intake through customs clearance and final-mile delivery.

An accomplished Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is sought by our client to assume full operational accountability, enhance existing processes with professional rigor, and spearhead their next phase of organizational expansion.

Crafting innovative solutions and driving operational excellence, the incumbent will assume a pivotal role in shaping strategic initiatives while maintaining a keen focus on delivering measurable outcomes. Key duties encompass spearheading cross-functional projects, optimizing workflows, and ensuring seamless collaboration among stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives. Additionally, the position demands meticulous attention to detail in analyzing complex data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making. Strong leadership acumen and the ability to mentor teams will be essential in fostering a high-performance culture and sustaining long-term growth.

Oversee the strategic direction and operational activities of all seven departments, including sales, customer service, transport, marketing, call center, warehouse, and operations, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with organizational objectives.

Achieve a year-on-year revenue growth target ranging from 20% to 30% while concurrently enhancing profitability margins.

Elevate client satisfaction by expediting the resolution of delays, breakages, and claims.

Manage air freight operations, sea container logistics, warehousing functions, transportation services, and customs clearance processes to ensure seamless and compliant supply chain execution.

Develop and nurture robust international collaborations while deploying advanced technology solutions to enhance tracking capabilities and operational efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is required. Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of teaching or instructional support experience, preferably in an academic or tutoring environment. Prior experience in curriculum development or educational program coordination is advantageous. Familiarity with diverse learning styles and differentiated instruction techniques is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to engage with students, parents, and faculty effectively.

A minimum of 10 to 15 years of professional experience in freight forwarding or logistics is required, demonstrating a robust background particularly in air freight and containerized sea freight operations.

With a minimum of five years of executive leadership experience, including positions such as General Manager, Director, or Chief Executive Officer, where you held direct Profit & Loss accountability, you have the strategic and operational expertise to drive organizational success.

Demonstrates a strong history of delivering exceptional client service and enhancing operational efficiency within logistics environments.

Proficiency in the Kenyan and East African regulatory frameworks, including regulations established by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Kenya Ports Authority (PA), and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEYS), is essential.

A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or a related field: An MBA or CILT/FIATA certification would be an added advantage.
