Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this individual will oversee the comprehensive operations of all departments, including Finance, Marketing and Business Development, Customer Services/Care, Projects, ICT, Credit, and Risk.

To champion the Society’s goals and strategic direction, spearhead initiatives that advance its vision and mission, fostering alignment across all stakeholders and ensuring the realization of key objectives.
Formulating and executing policies and strategies to ensure the Society’s operations run efficiently and effectively are central responsibilities of this role.
Offering expert guidance and leadership to the Board of Directors regarding policy development and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Foster robust and transparent collaborations with the Board while maintaining clear and consistent communication regarding the evaluation of financial and impact performance in relation to established milestones and objectives.
Work collaboratively with the Board to enhance and execute the Strategic Plan, ensuring alignment of budget, staffing, and priorities with the SACCO Mission and Vision.
Offer visionary leadership and strategic guidance to executive teams while fostering the ongoing growth and administration of a high-performing and streamlined organization. Implement robust decision-making frameworks designed to align with the SACCO’s short- and long-term goals and objectives.
Spearhead a persistent, proactive initiative to aggressively recruit new members.
Overseeing the development, implementation, and alignment of strategic plans and performance objectives.
The SACCO’s daily operations are managed through consistent support supervision of staff at their respective workstations, along with the implementation of regular staff rotations to ensure operational efficiency and coverage.
The candidate will craft and present long-term strategy, business plans, and annual operating budgets for approval by the Board of Directors, while also implementing robust internal monitoring and control systems and procedures.
Facilitating clear and consistent communication channels between the Board and staff is essential to this role.
Managing human resources encompasses a range of duties, including designing organizational frameworks, overseeing appointments, ensuring employee welfare, organizing training programs, handling industrial relations, facilitating separations, and implementing effective management succession plans.
The SACCO is committed to consistently enhancing the quality and value of its services.
To maintain consistent progress toward the SACCO’s financial and operational targets, the role involves overseeing the timely submission of internal auditor reports and implementing their recommendations on a quarterly basis.
Ensuring the effective implementation of SACCO policies and programs, including their oversight and enforcement, is a key responsibility of this role.
To maintain adherence to SACCO policies, regulations, and applicable governmental laws.
Guiding the SACCO in the execution of its current Strategic Plan and overseeing the submission of quarterly progress reports.
Person Profile
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting—or a Co-operative program—is required for this role.
Hold a degree in management, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
A Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA(K)) and an esteemed member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (IC PAK).
With a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience, including at least five years in a dedicated role, you will bring a depth of expertise to this position.
At the helm of a Financial Institution, you hold a senior executive role, responsible for steering the organization toward its strategic objectives with a keen focus on financial integrity and growth. This position demands extensive experience in financial services, coupled with a proven track record of leadership in high-stakes decision-making. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing complex financial operations, fostering stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. A deep understanding of market dynamics, risk management, and executive-level financial acumen are essential to excel in this role.

Candidates holding a Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting will be considered preferentially.
With a minimum of two years of hands-on experience within a Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, you will bring valuable expertise to this role.
