Oversee and execute a range of critical duties to ensure seamless operations, including managing team performance, optimizing workflows, and maintaining high standards of quality. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align goals, streamline processes, and drive productivity improvements. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Serve as a liaison between senior leadership and staff, facilitating clear communication and fostering a collaborative work environment. Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices to uphold compliance and operational excellence. Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, professional development, and retention strategies.

Provides anesthesia services for all emergency and elective procedures performed in the operating room, encompassing both minor and major surgical interventions.

Provide support in the care of critically ill patients on the ward as required, including those requiring immediate resuscitation and endotracheal intubation.

Join the specialized emergency trauma team, ready to respond at a moment’s notice to incidents involving multiple casualties.

Ensure all necessary anesthesia medications, equipment, and supplies are procured and available well in advance to maintain operational readiness.

The anesthetics machine and operating table must be kept in optimal working condition, with any faults, repair requirements, or maintenance needs reported promptly.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, is required. A minimum of five years of professional experience in a similar role is necessary. Proficiency in [specific software, tools, or methodologies] is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are expected to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with industry standards and compliance regulations is also required.

Registered Clinical Officer Anesthetists must possess a qualification from the Medical Training College (MTC) or an equivalent institution, holding a Higher Diploma in Anesthesia.

Registration with the Kenyan Clinical Officers Council is mandatory for practicing clinical officers in the country, ensuring compliance with national professional standards and regulatory requirements. This registration validates the individual’s qualifications, upholds ethical practice, and grants legal authorization to perform clinical duties in healthcare facilities across Kenya. Without this credential, professionals cannot lawfully engage in clinical practice within the jurisdiction.

A minimum of two years of professional experience in a high-volume hospital environment is required.
