Pursuant to Section 133A (2) (a) of the Land Act CAP 280, candidates seeking this role are required to meet the qualifications necessary for appointment as a judge of the High Court. As such, applicants must possess the following credentials:
Obtain a law degree from an accredited university, or serve as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, or hold professional qualifications as a magistrate, or possess an equivalent certification in a common-law jurisdiction.
A minimum of ten years’ experience is required in an academic, legal, or other pertinent legal profession.
Have accumulated a minimum of ten (10) years of experience meeting the qualifications outlined in paragraphs (i) and (ii), whether acquired in Kenya or another Commonwealth Common-Law jurisdiction.
Proficiency in alternative dispute resolution methods would be highly beneficial.
Exhibit unwavering ethical standards, moral rectitude, and unbiased decision-making in alignment with the provisions outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
