You will be tasked with managing a variety of operational duties, including overseeing project workflows, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and maintaining high standards of quality in deliverables. As part of a collaborative effort with the Country Director, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising and business continuity strategy tailored to the Country Office’s objectives.

Maintain and routinely update the Country Office funding pipeline by monitoring opportunities and tracking proposal statuses.

Conduct thorough research and monitoring to uncover timely funding prospects from private and institutional donors by leveraging donor funding intelligence and cultivating strategic partnerships.

Design and sustain resources, protocols, and frameworks for donor intelligence data to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and strategic utility.

Lead preparatory initiatives for upcoming funding opportunities by identifying and engaging key stakeholders—such as international and national NGOs, universities, research institutions, and line ministries—to establish collaborative consortia. Develop and finalize teaming agreements while crafting compelling winning strategies and pitches tailored to secure funding support.

Working alongside the Head of Programs, organize and lead donor and prospective partner visits to WHH Somalia/Somaliland operational sites, highlighting key achievements, demonstrating impact, and identifying areas in need of further funding support.

Oversee the creation and management of proposal development initiatives, ensuring adherence to project timelines while coordinating contributions from multiple stakeholders, and serve as the primary contributor in drafting proposals for new business opportunities.

Oversee the compilation of evidence briefs, capacity statements, and supplementary documentation. Provide assistance with evidence-gathering initiatives as needed.

Forged strategic alliances with prospective benefactors spanning individuals, corporations, foundations, and governmental bodies—expanding outreach to include unconventional donors and foundations, particularly within Gulf states—to enhance donor diversification.

Your profile

Professional qualification complemented by additional certification or vocational training, or an equivalent level of relevant experience is required.

You must possess 5 to 7 years of applicable professional experience in the Global South, with a minimum of 5 years specifically within the Somali context.

Proven expertise in the Somali region, characterized by a comprehensive grasp of Somali humanitarian and development coordination frameworks and aid systems.

Demonstrated success in obtaining institutional funding from prominent bilateral and multilateral donors.

Proven expertise in navigating the Somali funding ecosystem, encompassing both established and recently developed donor networks, as well as emerging sources of financial support.

Proven expertise in developing and implementing resilience initiatives within arid and semi-arid regions, with a focus on climate adaptation strategies, livelihood enhancement, and food security interventions.

Capable of and medically eligible to obtain all mandated vaccinations essential for international travel and deployment.

Possesses advanced proficiency in English communication, including both written and verbal skills.
