Job Summary:

The Partnerships Associate will facilitate the oversight of Chance Kenya’s network of partner educational institutions (PEI’s). This position involves overseeing critical elements of partnership management, with a focus on maintaining the integrity and long-term viability of our ISA investments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong partner engagement skills, analytical prowess to identify opportunities, and a proactive approach to advancing the department’s strategic objectives. Additionally, the role demands a high level of autonomy and self-directed execution.

Oversee and execute comprehensive responsibilities encompassing a broad spectrum of critical tasks, including the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, meticulous management of operational workflows, and the provision of high-caliber leadership to foster team productivity and innovation. Ensure alignment with organizational objectives by maintaining rigorous adherence to established policies, procedures, and performance benchmarks. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive cohesive project execution, resolve complex challenges, and optimize resource allocation for sustained growth and efficiency. Additionally, monitor progress through data-driven assessments, provide actionable feedback, and champion continuous improvement across all operational domains.

We are seeking a skilled Partnership Management professional to oversee and nurture strategic alliances that drive mutual growth and innovation. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain key relationships with partners, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while identifying new collaboration opportunities. Responsibilities include negotiating agreements, monitoring performance metrics, resolving conflicts, and fostering long-term engagement. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with a proven track record in partnership development, stakeholder management, and contract administration. Assist the Partnership Manager in cultivating and sustaining enduring, mutually beneficial partnerships with existing associates, while addressing their requirements and uncovering fresh prospects for collaboration.

Collaborate on the creation, standardization, and oversight of partnership agreements and contractual arrangements to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and compliance standards.

Play a key role in regularly assessing existing partnerships to verify their alignment with Chance’s vision and strategic goals.

Craft structured engagement strategies for each PEI, detailing monthly and quarterly touchpoints, performance evaluations, and corrective measures.

Monitor the advancement of partnership agreements to verify compliance with SLAs, ensure timely reporting, and uphold system usage standards.

Delivers essential data analysis, reporting, and strategic support to drive informed decision-making across the organization. Analyzes complex datasets to identify trends, performance metrics, and operational insights, translating them into actionable recommendations. Produces accurate, timely reports to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, refine data models, and enhance reporting frameworks. Develops and maintains dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to monitor progress and support long-term strategic initiatives.

Oversee the maintenance and updates of the partner dashboard and tracker, guaranteeing precision and adherence to monthly reporting requirements.

By analyzing data insights, you will uncover key trends, identify opportunities for enhancing processes, and foster growth in departmental partnerships.

Craft comprehensive, structured, and insightful reports detailing the partnership pipeline, progress toward established targets, and critical performance indicators for internal stakeholders.

Deliver continuous assistance to PEI staff regarding system operations, issue escalations, and software updates.

Direct oversight of the annual audit cycle for designated PEI’s is essential, mandating strict adherence to partnership agreements, reporting obligations, and established payment schedules.

The role involves managing disbursement processes and providing comprehensive portfolio support to ensure efficient financial operations. Key responsibilities include verifying transaction accuracy, maintaining meticulous records, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows. Proficiency in financial software and strong attention to detail are required, along with the ability to meet strict deadlines while adhering to regulatory standards. Additionally, the position demands excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, SAM, Communications & Community, Repayments, and Data to ensure the prompt and precise allocation of funds to partners.

Before any disbursements are processed for the PEI, confirm that all cohorts meet the commitment fee requirements and are actively in session.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; minimum of five years of experience in software development, with proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++; demonstrated expertise in full-stack development and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure; familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes; strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and attention to detail; excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management, International Development, Marketing, or a related discipline is required.

Requires two to three years of demonstrated expertise in a role focused on partnerships, business development, data analysis, or project management. Possessing prior experience within the education sector, financial services, or impact investing is highly beneficial.

Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of effectively addressing operational issues ranging from routine to moderately complex in nature.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities are essential to foster connections, cultivate relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, and articulate information with clarity in both written and spoken formats.

Demonstrates exceptional skill in utilizing Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiently.
