Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Relationship Manager Business, the Relationship Officer – Bashar Banking is tasked with overseeing and coordinating all microbusinesses under their purview to ensure the attainment of the bank’s strategic goals and objectives.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring deliverables meet established standards. Lead cross-functional initiatives, foster collaboration among departments, and maintain open communication channels to achieve organizational objectives. Monitor progress through regular evaluations, address any deviations promptly, and implement corrective measures to uphold efficiency and productivity. Collaborate with stakeholders to align priorities, assess resource allocation, and optimize workflows for maximum impact.

Responsible for customer management and onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless transition for new clients and maintaining strong relationships throughout their journey. This role involves guiding customers through initial setup, addressing inquiries, and providing ongoing support to foster long-term satisfaction and retention.

Facilitate the onboarding process for retailers and customers spanning diverse Ecosystem value chains and digital platforms, including WE and the JAZZY APP.

Prospect and cultivate potential leads to onboard new customers.

Engage in proactive outreach initiatives and cultivate strong, lasting connections to enhance customer retention rates.

Leverage established collaborations to grow the client portfolio.

Loan Administration and Regulatory Adherence entails meticulously managing all stages of loan documentation, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards. This role requires a keen attention to detail to verify accuracy in borrower information, financial disclosures, and legal compliance, while coordinating with underwriters, appraisers, and legal teams to facilitate timely processing. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in loan origination systems, comprehensive knowledge of state and federal lending regulations, and the ability to mitigate risks associated with non-compliance.

Assist clients in navigating the loan application process by conducting on-site business and residential visits to authenticate financial details and collateral.

Facilitate prompt loan approvals and disbursements in accordance with established service level agreements.

Present client requests for approval while overseeing security compliance and fund disbursement.

Commence collection procedures for delinquent accounts to ensure timely resolution and minimize financial risk.

Crafting and executing strategic marketing initiatives alongside driving sales objectives forms a core aspect of this multifaceted role, ensuring brand visibility and revenue growth through targeted campaigns and client engagement strategies.

Perform marketing outreach initiatives aimed at acquiring new customers.

Leverage opportunities to recommend and promote additional banking solutions to enhance customer value, ensuring alignment with both client needs and organizational objectives.

Develop and strengthen partnerships by utilizing existing connections to build a robust ecosystem.

Ensuring compliance with established protocols and maintaining adherence to company policies through comprehensive training initiatives.

Deliver comprehensive training to branch staff on Bashar Banking lending policies, procedures, and newly launched products.

Serve as the primary guardian of bank policy within the branch while maintaining strict adherence to established credit policies.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction through prompt, professional, and empathetic communication across various channels. Maintain a thorough understanding of products, services, and policies to deliver accurate and efficient support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify recurring concerns and propose improvements to enhance overall service quality. Deliver exceptional customer service, expedite loan processing procedures, and provide timely responses to loan applications.

Portfolio and Relationship Management involves overseeing and optimizing investment portfolios while cultivating and maintaining strong client relationships. Mobilize deposits by implementing strategic initiatives to attract and retain customer funds, thereby enhancing the financial institution’s liquidity and profitability. Develop and execute plans to optimize deposit growth through targeted marketing campaigns, competitive pricing strategies, and exceptional customer service. Collaborate with branch teams, digital banking platforms, and cross-functional departments to ensure a seamless and cohesive approach to deposit acquisition. Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive benchmarks to refine strategies and maximize deposit inflows. Monitor performance metrics and adjust tactics as needed to achieve deposit volume and growth targets.

Qualifications

A candidate with a university degree, preferably in Education, Social Sciences, or a Business-related field, is required.

Achieved an overall average grade of C+ or higher in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examination.

With a minimum of three to four years of hands-on experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a sales-focused role.

Proficiency in the microfinance sector is highly advantageous.

A strong background in project management is required, with a preference for candidates who possess monitoring and evaluation expertise.

Demonstrates outstanding creativity, ingenuity, and resourcefulness in problem-solving and innovation.

Proven expertise in cultivating and sustaining strong business relationships, coupled with refined techniques for successfully finalizing agreements and transactions.
