Lead the month-end and year-end closing procedures, verifying the accuracy of accounts and resolving discrepancies promptly. Supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering professional development to build a high-performing team. Manage external audits, liaising with auditors to address inquiries and implement recommendations for continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to tax obligations, including the timely filing of returns and the accurate calculation of liabilities. Champion best practices in financial controls, risk management, and internal controls to mitigate potential exposures.

The primary duties and obligations encompass the following:

Facilitate and oversee the strategic collaboration between the World Food Program (WFP) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), allocating 30% of your efforts to this critical initiative.

Serve as the intermediary between the WFP and OCHA impact evaluation units.

Work in collaboration with OCHA and WFP Country teams, alongside other United Nations entities, to identify potential impact evaluation opportunities and assess their feasibility.

Engage consistently with the WFP Anticipatory Action team under the WFP Climate and Resilience Service to pinpoint priority countries and develop impact evaluation frameworks that support the service’s strategic objectives.

Design impact evaluation frameworks for key countries in collaboration with both local and global teams based in headquarters.

Spearhead routine interactions with stakeholders across country and regional office levels to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Craft detailed progress updates, comprehensive donor reports, board briefing notes, and compelling presentations to effectively communicate the status and impact of partnership initiatives.

Compile and document key insights, effective methodologies, and outcomes from partnerships to create a repository of valuable learning experiences and shared successes.

Assist in collaborative planning initiatives, resource mobilization strategies, and the preparation of partnership proposals.

Deliver strategic insights and actionable recommendations to enhance alignment and collaboration among implementing partners.

Coordinate joint communication materials, success narratives, and visibility assets for partnerships while maintaining alignment with REV communication guidelines to ensure consistent messaging.

Provide assistance in managing public events, field missions, and donor visits as needed.

Spearhead or provide assistance in executing impact evaluations as part of the collaborative initiative between WFP and OCHA, accounting for 70% of responsibilities.

Spearhead the execution of impact evaluations, specifically through Randomized Control Trials.

Oversee or actively participate in securing Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals through the procurement process.

Direct the creation, modification, and maintenance of household survey questionnaires, ensuring they meet data collection objectives and methodological standards.

Facilitate the procurement and contracting of data collection service providers, ensuring alignment with the requirements of impact evaluations and other monitoring and evaluation initiatives within the WFP. Coordinate and oversee data collection efforts to optimize their effectiveness for evaluation purposes and broader programmatic needs.

Conduct or assist in data analysis in alignment with established impact evaluation designs, ensuring completion within timeframes that optimize the potential for evidence utilization.

Spearhead daily collaboration with field coordinators and key stakeholders across country and regional offices.

Engage in field missions as required to facilitate the execution and oversight of impact evaluations.

Provide training and technical assistance to enumerators for data collection activities, guiding them on data quality checks and analysis to uphold the integrity and reliability of collected data.

To closely oversee the execution of the program, ensuring it adheres to the evaluation design and data collection protocols.

Co-authors briefs, reports, and other evaluation-related publications in alignment with WFP’s established reporting standards and the organization’s evaluation quality assurance systems (ERAS).

Lead or facilitate the planning and execution of dissemination workshops, and conduct field visits as necessary to assist with impact evaluation activities.

At the conclusion of the contract period, the deliverables to be provided include a fully documented project outcome, a comprehensive final report outlining key findings and recommendations, and any developed assets or materials created during the engagement. Additionally, all project data, records, and supporting documentation must be handed over in an organized and accessible format, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.

We collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure successful execution of the partnership work plan, aligning efforts with strategic objectives and fostering mutually beneficial outcomes. This involves maintaining open communication channels, addressing concerns promptly, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance collaboration and drive project milestones forward.

Facilitative discussions with priority countries will be conducted to collaboratively design impact evaluations, ensuring alignment with their strategic priorities and operational contexts.

Designing and overseeing three to four impact evaluations effectively is essential to achieving meaningful results.

Clear and effective impact evaluation communications outputs encompass the development and dissemination of comprehensive reports, concise briefs, and compelling presentations designed to highlight key findings, methodologies, and actionable recommendations. These outputs ensure that stakeholders, from policymakers to practitioners, can readily understand the significance of the evaluation’s results and their implications for decision-making. The role requires proficiency in distilling complex data into accessible formats while maintaining rigorous accuracy and adherence to best practices in communication. Additionally, it demands strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to align messaging with the overarching goals of the evaluation and the needs of diverse audiences.

Education: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant disciplines are highly desirable.
