BURN designs, produces, and delivers high-quality, fuel-efficient cooking solutions that improve lives and protect forests in developing regions. By establishing a sustainable business model, BURN has transformed the global cook stove industry, demonstrating the viability of selling premium, locally manufactured, and unsubsidized stoves.
Since its launch in 2013, BURN has distributed over 200,000 of its locally produced *Nikola* stoves throughout East Africa. These stoves have benefited more than one million users, helping them save an estimated $39 million in fuel costs while reducing wood consumption by 626,221 tons. Additionally, the stoves have lowered indoor air pollution by 65%. With a current sales pace of approximately 10,000 stoves per month, BURN aims to double its by the end of 2017.
