About the role

We are seeking a Head Chef to oversee all aspects of kitchen and cafeteria operations, maintaining stringent standards in food quality, hygiene, cost management, and operational effectiveness. This position requires leadership of kitchen staff, management of inventory and procurement procedures, and fostering ongoing enhancements within food service operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for managing comprehensive kitchen operations and fostering seamless coordination among all workflows to uphold operational excellence.

Maintain uniform food quality, flavor profiles, portion sizes, and visual appeal for every meal served.

Create and execute menus that balance cost efficiency, nutritional value, and operational demands effectively.

Maintain unwavering adherence to all food safety protocols, hygiene best practices, and sanitation regulations to uphold the highest possible standards.

Oversee expenditures in the kitchen to maintain adherence to the allocated financial budget while ensuring smooth operational workflows.

To oversee food preparation procedures, ensuring adherence to established standards, maintaining consistency, and guaranteeing quality throughout the process.

Oversee inventory levels, manage procurement strategies, and maintain precise stock control measures.

Process Service Requests and Purchase Requests utilizing Microsoft Dynamics NAV for efficient resolution and documentation.

Compile and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to assess food cost efficiency, consumption patterns, and wastage levels.

Evaluate potential strategies to minimize food waste and enhance operational productivity.

Spearhead the training, supervision, and performance evaluation of staff members to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Properly oversee the strategic planning and distribution of kitchen resources for every shift.

Address operational issues that require elevated attention, ensuring swift resolution of any concerns pertaining to food quality or service standards.

Ensure the cafeteria consistently meets and enhances operational standards and service quality.

Ensure all kitchen equipment and facilities are operated, maintained, and kept in accordance with established safety protocols at all times.

Implement systematic enhancements to kitchen workflows and operational efficiency.

Management may assign additional responsibilities as needed.

Seeking candidates with a robust skill set and relevant professional experience. Applicants must possess strong analytical abilities, proficiency in project management tools, and exceptional communication skills. Experience in a fast-paced corporate environment is highly desirable, along with a proven track record in meeting tight deadlines. Familiarity with industry-specific software and a minimum of three years in a comparable role are required. Additionally, the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving priorities is essential.

A relevant academic credential, such as a diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline, is required.

Minimum 2–5 years of professional experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen environment is required.

Skilled in overseeing large-scale food production operations with efficiency and precision. Demonstrates expertise in coordinating high-volume culinary processes while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. Possesses a proven track record of optimizing workflows to meet demanding production targets without compromising consistency or excellence.

Demonstrates exceptional ability to lead and manage teams effectively, fostering collaboration and guiding team members toward shared objectives with clarity and decisiveness.

A solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations is required.

Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, is a fundamental requirement for this position.

Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential for this role.
