Wetlands International Eastern Africa is in search of a seasoned Regional Finance & Compliance Officer to spearhead strategic direction in financial management, regulatory adherence, risk mitigation, donor transparency, and fiscal supervision across its regional operations.
The position will be responsible for managing financial planning and reporting, overseeing budgeting and grants management, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting audits, maintaining internal controls, and enhancing financial systems to support program delivery across Eastern Africa.
Seeking a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling to join our team. Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including LOOKUP, pivot tables, and advanced functions. Requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, along with prior experience in financial analysis, forecasting, or budgeting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and effective communication skills to present complex financial data clearly. Knowledge of ERP systems and SQL is a plus.
A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline is required.
A professional qualification such as CPA(K), ARCA, or an equivalent credential is required.
Seeking a candidate with 8 to 10 years of progressive professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years dedicated to senior-level regional or multinational finance leadership responsibilities.
Demonstrated expertise in overseeing donor-funded initiatives within an international non-governmental organization setting is essential.
