Our client is seeking a seasoned Bookkeeping Officer to fill a full-time position in Nairobi County, Kenya, offering a hybrid work model that blends office-based and remote work. The role encompasses maintaining precise and current financial records, which includes creating and posting journal entries, updating ledgers, and conducting account reconciliations. The Bookkeeping Officer will contribute to the preparation of financial statements, monitor income and expenditures, and support the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures. Additional duties involve managing invoices, receipts, and payments, ensuring adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements, and leveraging accounting software to produce management reports. The candidate will work closely with internal teams, address finance-related inquiries, and enhance bookkeeping processes to boost efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

Proficient in bookkeeping and journal entry preparation, with a keen ability to ensure the precision and meticulous organization of financial records.

Demonstrates strong expertise in developing and maintaining accurate financial statements and associated documentation.

Proficient in utilizing accounting software and applying fundamental financial principles in practice.

A degree or academic qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required, with professional certifications such as CPA or ARCA considered advantageous.
