The Role

The ideal candidate will be expected to fulfill the following duties:

Responsible for strategizing, organizing, and managing daily facilities operations across various branches, offices, and support facilities.

Implement and oversee planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance initiatives for a comprehensive range of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire and safety systems, generators, inverters, cold rooms, hybrid inverters, solar systems, AIRS, UPS, lifts, water treatment plants, and precision cooling units.

Oversee the continuous functionality, security, and operational readiness of facilities to guarantee seamless banking operations without interruption.

Responsible for managing contract administration, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), while delivering cost-effective solutions and maintaining high service standards.

Ensure complete adherence to all applicable statutory and regulatory mandates, encompassing OSHA, FEMA, Public Health, fire safety, and building codes.

Develop, oversee, and maintain health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance and operational excellence across all company facilities.

Facilitate internal and external audits while ensuring prompt resolution of audit findings associated with facilities management.

Develop, oversee, and maintain annual facility budgets, financial projections, and strategies focused on cost efficiency.

Oversee facility-related expenditures to uncover avenues for cost reduction and process enhancements.

Evaluate and authorize facility invoices and payment requests, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and contractual terms.

Advocate for and implement measures that enhance energy efficiency, conserve water resources, and promote sustainability within facility management operations.

Play a key role in developing and implementing Business Continuity strategies with a focus on facilities and infrastructure management.

Compile periodic management reports detailing facilities performance metrics, associated costs, regulatory compliance status, and identified risks.

Facilitate communication and collaboration with branch management, business units, regulatory bodies, landlords, and service providers to address facilities-related concerns and initiatives.

Seeking a candidate with a robust skill set encompassing both technical and interpersonal proficiencies, alongside demonstrated experience in [relevant field/industry]. Seeking candidates with three to five years of hands-on experience in facilities or property management, ideally within the banking, financial services sector, or large multi-site organizations.

Proven expertise in the design, implementation, and management of building systems and facility operations.

Possesses a strong background in overseeing and negotiating contracts, as well as managing relationships with vendors to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Demonstrates proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and administering agreements while mitigating risks and resolving disputes. Requires keen attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining productive partnerships.

Proficient in budgeting and financial analysis is required.

Proficient understanding of Kenyan Health, Safety, and Environment regulations, as well as relevant statutory requirements, is essential.

Stellar expertise in engaging and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, coupled with exceptional communication abilities.

Demonstrates exceptional aptitude for strategic planning, effective coordination, and adept problem-solving.
