A Data Centre Technician is required in Nairobi, Kenya to perform hands-on rack and stack operations, break/fix tasks, cabling, installations, and incident triage, ensuring the continuous 24/7 operation of Oracle Cloud infrastructure.
As an Oracle Data Center Technician in Nairobi, you will play a pivotal role within the onsite team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations within a production data center environment. Your responsibilities will involve direct engagement with infrastructure and hardware, contributing to the reliability of services and the successful achievement of critical build and delivery milestones. Collaboration with engineers and senior technicians will be essential as you troubleshoot issues, perform installations, and uphold stringent standards for operational excellence, safety, and documentation.

Requirements
Requires a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in a data center setting, including roles in data center operations, colocation facilities, hyperscale environments, enterprise data centers, or comparable critical infrastructure positions.
Proficiency in server hardware operations and fundamental break/fix procedures is required.
Proficient in Linux environments, with a solid grasp of essential commands and effective troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with data center infrastructure components, including cooling systems, electrical and power distribution principles, fundamental networking concepts, and structured cabling standards, is essential.
Able to perform effectively in rotating shift assignments within an onsite operational setting, including availability for on-call duties as needed.
Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, maintains accurate documentation, and consistently follows established processes.
