Oxford University Press East Africa seeks an Assistant Education Business Advisor to join the Nairobi team on an 8-month fixed-term contract, with a primary focus on accelerating sales growth, cultivating school partnerships, overseeing distributor management, and providing analytical support for collections and CRM reporting. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Education, Sales, or Marketing, along with 3–5 years of relevant experience in educational sales. Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation while effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Oversee a broad range of responsibilities centered on ensuring operational efficiency, including managing workflows, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing process improvements. Lead and coordinate team efforts to align with organizational goals, fostering collaboration and accountability across departments. Develop and enforce policies and procedures to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on resource allocation and risk mitigation strategies. Conduct regular assessments to identify gaps, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as a key liaison between executive teams and operational staff to facilitate clear communication and alignment of objectives.

Achieve sales targets by implementing a strategic plan tailored to the designated territory.

Daily visits to schools are conducted to meticulously document all activities, ensuring precise and detailed record-keeping throughout each visit.

Prospect and transform emerging business prospects into viable opportunities.

Oversee bookshop operations and distributor partnerships to enhance product accessibility and market presence.

The incumbent will facilitate collections activities, track overdue balances, and prepare and submit sales reports promptly.

Ideal profile

Proven ability to communicate effectively, cultivate strong relationships, negotiate with confidence, and manage tasks with precision and organization.

Exceptional proficiency in digital tools, technology, data management, and analytical techniques is required.

Maintaining professionalism, adhering to ethical guidelines, and upholding brand integrity are fundamental expectations for this role.
