Job Purpose

The volunteer project manager is responsible for managing and supervising the daily activities of the randomized controlled trial (RCT) that evaluates digital versus paper-based Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (Proms) in the orthopedic outpatient clinic, with a focus on maintaining schedules, ensuring adherence to protocols, facilitating clear communication, and optimizing collaboration among investigators, staff, and volunteers.

Oversee a range of critical duties including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to established quality standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor progress to guarantee timely and successful project completion. Conduct regular evaluations of performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Facilitate communication between departments to align goals, resolve conflicts, and maintain a cohesive operational workflow. Additionally, prepare detailed reports to update leadership on project statuses, risks, and strategic recommendations.

Manage the daily operations of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) designed to evaluate digital versus paper-based Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (Proms) within an orthopedic outpatient clinic setting.

Establish and manage detailed project schedules, guaranteeing all key milestones are achieved within designated timeframes.

Schedule and organize meetings involving investigators, clinical personnel, and research assistants to ensure efficient communication and collaboration.

Compiling and maintaining precise records, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and facilitating smooth operational workflows through meticulous documentation practices are key responsibilities. This role requires a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures accurately. Additionally, it involves verifying documentation accuracy, identifying potential gaps, and implementing corrective measures to uphold organizational integrity and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include maintaining precise records tracking study advancement, encompassing recruitment logs as well as data collection statuses.

Collaborate closely with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to uphold ethical standards and maintain current, accurate documentation.

Facilitates the preparation and dissemination of accurate, timely, and relevant information to stakeholders through diverse communication channels, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging. Compiles, analyzes, and presents data in structured reports, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations to support informed decision-making. Maintains transparency in reporting processes while adhering to organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather information and align reporting objectives with strategic goals.

Serve as the primary liaison among the volunteer team, clinic personnel, and principal investigators to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.

Submit periodic progress reports to the principal investigators to ensure alignment with project objectives and milestones.

Draft interim reports and contribute to the preparation of final study summaries.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required:

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of three years of professional experience in [specific field or role] is essential, along with demonstrated proficiency in [specific technical skills or tools].
