We are seeking a highly skilled Red Seal-certified Plumbing Specialist to join a prominent high-rise accommodation project in Nairobi, Kenya. This position encompasses the installation, testing, commissioning, and rigorous quality assurance of domestic water, drainage, firefighting, irrigation, swimming pool, and specialized plumbing systems.
Oversee and execute core duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership to drive organizational objectives forward. Develop and implement comprehensive policies, procedures, and performance metrics to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. Lead cross-functional initiatives, fostering collaboration and alignment among departments to optimize workflows and resource allocation. Monitor progress through detailed reporting, data analysis, and key performance indicators, providing actionable insights to senior management. Represent the organization in external engagements, cultivating relationships with stakeholders, partners, and regulatory bodies to enhance reputation and secure opportunities.
Analyze and decipher architectural, structural, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings to extract critical details and ensure accurate interpretation of design specifications.
Installs hot and cold water supply systems, as well as drainage, soil, waste, and vent systems.
Install sanitary fixtures, pumps, tanks, filtration systems, and booster systems with precision and adherence to industry standards. Ensure all installations comply with safety protocols and local building codes while maintaining optimal functionality and performance.
Perform underground drainage and specialized plumbing installations with precision and expertise.
Proficiently assemble and install irrigation systems, wet risers, sprinkler systems, jacuzzis, and pool piping to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to design specifications.
Perform pressure assessments, drainage evaluations, and system start-up procedures to ensure operational integrity and compliance with performance standards.
To uphold adherence to British Standards, local regulatory requirements, and OSHA safety guidelines, ensuring all operations align with established safety and compliance protocols.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with three years of professional experience in software development. Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, and familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile or Scrum is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team are required. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate experience with version control systems such as Git and have a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Holders of a Red Seal Plumbing Certification demonstrate proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in compliance with industry standards and local regulations, ensuring safe and efficient water distribution and waste management. This certification validates the ability to interpret blueprints, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks such as pipe fitting, fixture installation, and system testing. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria, including a combination of education and apprenticeship hours, and successfully pass a standardized examination.
Requires a minimum of five years of hands-on involvement in high-rise or commercial construction projects.
Demonstrates extensive expertise in the coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with particular proficiency in plumbing system design and implementation.
Proficiency in firefighting operations and familiarity with specialized water systems is highly desirable.
