Oversee primary duties and fulfill key responsibilities, including executing essential tasks and managing core functions integral to the role. Duties encompass a range of critical activities such as leading strategic initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Provide leadership and operational assistance to security and conservation personnel, maintain accurate records while upholding confidentiality standards, facilitate communication with JOCK, KWS, and NRT, organize departmental meetings and training sessions, and track staff leave and off-day schedules to ensure adherence to organizational policies.

Procurement & Logistics: Responsible for managing requisitions, facilitating purchases, coordinating supply deliveries, overseeing vehicle maintenance, and ensuring adherence to licensing requirements.

Develop and oversee financial plans and budgets specifically for General Security and Armed Security initiatives, meticulously track expenditures, and guarantee adherence to contractual obligations while fostering collaboration with Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Grants teams.

The Grants & Fundraising role involves preparing and assisting with grant applications, engaging in fundraising campaigns, and ensuring adherence to donor requirements.

Compile, standardize, and analyze monitoring and evaluation data, systematically review departmental submissions for accuracy and completeness, and produce detailed incident and operational reports to support data-driven decision-making.

External Relations & Compliance: Engage with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and key stakeholders to foster collaborative partnerships while ensuring adherence to Kenyan regulatory frameworks and donor stipulations. Serve as LEA’s designated representative in JOCK meetings, presenting updates and upholding organizational commitments with professionalism and diligence.

Performs additional duties as required by management to support ongoing operations and objectives.

We seek a highly motivated professional to fill this critical role, requiring a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in industry-standard software tools. Responsibilities include managing complex projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards. Additionally, the position demands excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is mandatory, while an advanced degree or relevant certifications may be advantageous.

The position requires an individual who demonstrates proficiency in the following areas:

A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is required.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

With a minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in administrative and financial coordination—ideally within the conservation or security sectors—the ideal candidate will bring a strong background in managing budgets, coordinating schedules, and overseeing financial processes. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and compliance with financial regulations. Proficiency in financial software, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this position.

In roles funded by nongovernmental organizations or donor agencies, responsibilities and requirements are shaped by the unique constraints and objectives of such institutions.

Skilled in a wide range of Information Technology capabilities, encompassing data management, reporting systems, Microsoft Office applications, and security software solutions.

Proficiency in Kenyan wildlife conservation regulations is required.

Maintaining unwavering integrity, adhering to strict ethical principles, and exercising sound judgment are essential qualities for this role.

Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively and make informed decisions under pressure.

Demonstrates strong self-management skills and the capacity to operate autonomously with minimal supervision.
