MPAA Research Centre is actively recruiting a proactive and technically adept IT Assistant to reinforce its Information Technology team.

This position delivers primary IT assistance across both office and field operations, maintaining dependable systems, uninterrupted communications, and precise data reporting within a fast-paced research and conservation setting.

The IT Assistant will function as the primary support liaison for users, addressing inquiries related to hardware, software, and networks. Additionally, the role will involve managing IT assets and providing support for the Earth Ranger domain awareness system.

Duties involve overseeing project execution, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Responsibilities include developing strategic plans, monitoring progress, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Essential qualifications encompass a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a leadership role. Strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and proficiency in industry-standard software are required. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the capacity to mentor junior team members effectively.

Deliver comprehensive first-level IT assistance for desktops, laptops, printers, software applications, and user access-related challenges.

Investigate and address network and connectivity problems proactively to prevent them from escalating to the IT Manager.

Maintain a precise inventory of IT assets and facilitate consistent audits to ensure accuracy.

Facilitate Earth Ranger reporting processes, perform data extraction tasks, and conduct foundational analysis for operational applications.

Oversee the performance of IT systems while providing support for regular maintenance, software updates, and technical issue resolution.

Deliver comprehensive IT and communication assistance to field teams and remote operational units.

Oversee the administration and maintenance of Turbojet radio communication systems alongside field connectivity tools.

Ensure the upkeep of IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.

Handle staff onboarding and offboarding processes, which entail system configuration and access administration.
