AMI seeks a proactive and skilled Financial Inclusion and Fintech Expert (Consultant) to create engaging, user-friendly, and impactful learning materials and resources. These tools will empower young women entrepreneurs in Kenya to comprehend, access, and confidently utilize available financial and fintech solutions.

Oversee daily operations to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to established policies and procedures. Develop the foundational fintech knowledge framework within the Digitize initiative, assuming full ownership of its creation and implementation.

Design educational resources that clearly explain access to finance requirements, borrowing practices, loan limits, repayment terms, and sustainable financing strategies to ensure practical understanding and application.

Perform thorough market scans to identify fintech solutions and financial service providers in Kenya that cater specifically to agri-food micro-enterprises.

Establish partnerships with credible financial institutions and fintech providers that align with the needs of program participants, ensuring robust and reliable solutions are accessible.

Clearly delineate the selection criteria for fintech solutions, ensuring they align with the financial constraints and opportunities encountered by young women entrepreneurs operating within the agricultural value chain.

Engage directly with fintech providers to obtain comprehensive insights into their product portfolios, user experience, and qualification criteria.

Develop a meticulously organized and intuitive directory encompassing pertinent financial products and services.

Craft safeguarding memorandums by preparing advisory documents that identify risks, outline responsible practices, and detail warning indicators associated with predatory lending.

Ensure gender responsiveness by verifying that all finalized materials are inclusive, practical, and easily understandable for entrepreneurs with limited financial or digital literacy.

Collaborate with the team to consolidate learning content into a standalone, accessible e-booklet, featuring fintech profiles and responsible borrowing guidance.

Requirements

Seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of Kenya’s digital financial services and fintech landscape, coupled with a demonstrated history of engagement in the MSME sector.

We have a proven track record in developing effective toolkits, e-books, and instructional learning resources specifically tailored to the needs of micro-enterprises and entrepreneurs.

Demonstrates exceptional research and analytical skills, with the ability to independently assess, profile, and map financial products and services for comprehensive evaluation.

Proven expertise in crafting training or educational materials customized for MSMEs, alongside a solid grasp of the operational hurdles commonly encountered by micro-enterprise owners.

Proven experience in gender-responsive programming or initiatives focused on women’s economic empowerment (WEE) is required.
