Guides the organization’s strategic direction by exercising strong leadership, cultivating a culture that elevates the company’s reputation, upholds ethical standards, and ensures sound governance practices.
The incumbent will execute the Board’s resolutions efficiently and promptly to advance the company’s strategic initiatives, ensuring all Board documentation is precise, pertinent, and delivered to members in a timely fashion. Additionally, the role will serve as a pivotal liaison between the Board and Management.
Leads the assessment of geothermal potential, oversees the design and implementation of geothermal infrastructure, and manages the execution of geothermal well drilling operations.
Develops steam fields and oversees the strategic management of geothermal resources with diligence and foresight.
Drives the advancement, adoption, and market deployment of Geothermal Direct Use initiatives and technologies.
Supervises the proficient administration of Human Resources to enhance productivity by implementing policies and strategic initiatives designed to recruit and retain skilled, high-performing employees in alignment with the approved organizational structure.
Offer strategic guidance to the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary concerning the country’s energy mix and the formulation of sector policies.
Maintain consistent and timely communication with the Board regarding critical technical, financial, and administrative issues.
Formulate and present to the Board the Company’s annual business plans for review and approval.
Person Specifications
Candidates seeking appointment to this position must satisfy the following criteria:
With a minimum of fifteen years of professional experience, ten of which must have been in a managerial capacity within a relevant field, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of leadership.
A recognized university degree at the bachelor’s level is required.
A recognized university must confer a master’s degree.
A recognized institution must provide a leadership development program spanning a minimum cumulative duration of four weeks.
Professional certification and affiliation with a relevant professional organization are required, where applicable.
Demonstrates strong competency in utilizing various computer applications effectively.
Demonstrated full compliance with the stipulations outlined in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
A strong proficiency in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic planning is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively across different levels of an organization. Demonstrated expertise in project management, with a proven track record of delivering results within established timelines and budgets, is required. Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are critical to ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
