The monthly remuneration for this position ranges progressively from KSS. 34,420 to Kshs. 46,120, with additional allowances totaling between Kshs. 1,300 and Kshs. 1,710.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position serves as the introductory and developmental stage within the cadre. An officer at this level will operate under the direction and oversight of a more experienced officer.
County Headquarters: This position is based at the county’s primary administrative facility, where the successful candidate will operate under the oversight of senior county officials. The role involves collaboration with various departments to enhance operational efficiency, support policy implementation, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Duties include managing administrative functions, overseeing budget execution, and providing strategic guidance to achieve county-wide objectives. Ideal applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business management, or a related field, along with at least five years of progressively responsible experience in government or a comparable sector. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential, as the role requires liaising with elected officials, stakeholders, and the public to foster transparency and accountability.
At this level, responsibilities will include performing a wide range of administrative tasks, enforcing county regulations, and safeguarding government property, assets, facilities, and inventory. Additionally, the role requires managing infrastructure maintenance, coordinating transport services, and overseeing office accommodation planning. The position also involves managing the acquisition, development, and updating of office equipment and furniture, coordinating meetings, conferences, and special events, and supervising the general upkeep of buildings and furniture.
Field Administration responsibilities include overseeing field operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, managing field staff performance, coordinating with internal departments to streamline workflows, and optimizing field resource allocation. The role requires a strong understanding of field management principles, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to resolve on-site challenges efficiently. Candidates must have prior experience in field administration or a related role, preferably in a [specific industry, if applicable], and demonstrate proficiency in field reporting and documentation.
The officer will report to and receive direction from a senior officer. Key responsibilities at this level include cultivating relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders, addressing public concerns and inquiries, tracking and assessing community initiatives, coordinating local resource mobilization efforts, encouraging citizen involvement in developmental programs, overseeing workplace health and safety protocols, fostering ethical standards and principles of good governance, compiling and analyzing data on developmental activities, and coordinating with stakeholders to organize public participation forums.
Seeking a seasoned professional with a proven track record in project management and a strong background in technical disciplines. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional organizational skills, demonstrate proficiency in relevant software tools, and exhibit the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively. A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role is required, along with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Familiarity with industry standards and compliance regulations is essential, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to stakeholders at all levels is crucial. Additionally, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities are necessary to drive project success and meet organizational objectives.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
A recognized institution must award a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Community Development, or another Social Science discipline.
A diploma or certification in computer applications is required.
