Lead and guide all department employees, including Assistant Facilities Managers, custodial staff, grounds crew, and security personnel, across one temple or up to four smaller temples. Oversee capital expenditure repair and improvement projects for facilities, systems, and grounds by conducting inspections, preparing reports, verifying compliance with architectural plans and specifications, coordinating with local authorities, securing necessary permits, monitoring project timelines, and facilitating the delivery and installation of furniture and materials. Consistently supervise the workflow of other employees, which may include a diverse workforce, serving as the most senior subject-matter expert within the facility.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to oversee daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with various teams to meet deadlines, and maintaining high standards of quality in all outputs. Additionally, the position requires thorough record-keeping, compliance with company policies, and proactive problem-solving to address any operational challenges. In collaboration with Human Resources, this role is tasked with the authority to recruit or terminate employees, as well as evaluate and recommend career progression, promotions, or other status modifications within their direct reports.

Overseeing a team of 10 to 20 employees, the role involves direct supervision of two or more team leads.

Responsible for overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of the temple and its associated facilities, encompassing a total area of approximately 70,000 square feet. This includes ensuring the proper functioning of ancillary structures such as patron housing, the visitor’s center, the temple president’s residence, the Missionary Training Center (MTC), and area offices.

Ensure adherence to established standards continuously, both during periods of high occupancy and when the temple is not open to the public.

Accountable for overseeing the expectations of roughly three to four primary stakeholders, ensuring alignment and satisfaction throughout the engagement.

Consistently oversee the performance and productivity of team members, which may encompass a diverse workforce.

Demonstrating superior expertise in Temple Facilities Services operations, we enhance team performance through targeted on-site and remote training initiatives, coupled with personalized coaching and mentorship programs designed to elevate skill levels and overall job proficiency.

Duties include the development and execution of temple maintenance guidelines and resources, as well as the evaluation of enhanced maintenance techniques, systems, and machinery.

Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive annual plan, ensuring effective oversight and management of project and operational expenditures, as well as the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, audiovisual, and computer systems.

Oversee departmental labor expenditures, encompassing both contractual staff and permanent employees, as well as external vendor partnerships.

Engages in comprehensive finalization procedures for project(s), encompassing the completion of as-built drawings, archiving of project documentation, execution of the close out process, issuance of the letter of substantial completion, facilitation of the warranty process, and preparation of the letter of recommendation.

Ensure all project initiatives are executed in strict adherence to approved design documentation and established standards.

Communicates as needed with the Temple President, other Priesthood leaders, supervisors, department specialists, local government officials, architects, general contractors, and community leaders.

Regular status reports are generated and distributed, detailing project advancements, quality benchmarks, encountered challenges, and the procurement status of necessary materials and equipment.

Oversee project schedule(s) to confirm deliverables are completed within the established deadlines.

Qualifications

Required:

A four-year bachelor’s degree in facilities management, building industry, project management, or a comparable discipline is required.

With six years of demonstrated expertise in facilities management, the ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of overseeing operational efficiency, maintenance coordination, and strategic planning within diverse environments. This professional will have honed skills in vendor management, budget adherence, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards, ensuring seamless day-to-day functionality of physical assets and infrastructure.

A minimum of ten years of combined education and relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of both, is required.

A strong working knowledge of essential facilities systems and operations is required, including boiler and chiller servicing, electrical motor controls, audiovisual setups, electrical distribution networks, and plumbing infrastructure.

Possesses exceptional proficiency in both verbal and written communication, along with strong computer literacy skills.

Proficient in both spoken and written English communication.

Required to maintain a polished and professional image at all times, this role demands a consistently neat and appropriate appearance along with a courteous and composed demeanor.

Physical demands associated with this role include prolonged periods of sitting and the consistent use of computer monitors and related equipment to fulfill core responsibilities.

Capable of safely handling loads weighing up to 50 pounds.

Preferred:
