JOB PURPOSE
The Research Officer will oversee the recruitment and enrollment of study participants at designated healthcare facilities within Nairobi County. This role involves direct reporting to the Study Coordinator, ensuring alignment with study protocols and timelines.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducting participant screening, recruitment, and enrollment in strict accordance with study protocols and guidelines.
Data will be collected in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures.
Data entry duties involve inputting collected information into the Redcap system on Android tablets.
Ensure the integrity, completeness, and secure handling of collected data, storing it in strict compliance with study SOPs and good clinical practices to maintain confidentiality and regulatory standards.
Ensure strict adherence to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) protocols and confidentiality agreements.
Compiles daily summaries of study participants who have been screened and enrolled in the clinic, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of their progress.
Our responsibility involves administering the specified interventions and procedures to study participants with precision and adherence to protocol.
Ensure study participants adhere to all established study procedures and protocols throughout the duration of the trial.
Proficiently exhibit comprehension of the study Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
Maintain strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout all stages of the study procedures.
The facility staff will receive comprehensive training on PM+ to ensure proficiency in its application and utilization.
Twice-weekly, the incumbent will prepare and submit comprehensive summaries outlining recruitment metrics and enrollment progress for the study to the designated Study Coordinator.
Monthly, diligently document modifications to study strategies by completing comprehensive data capture forms.
The role necessitates a combination of specialized skills, technical proficiency, and professional experience. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of five years in a related field, with a proven track record of leadership in project management or equivalent roles. Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills are critical, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities. Proficiency in industry-specific software or tools is mandatory, as is the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required, and advanced certifications or advanced degrees are advantageous. The candidate must exhibit adaptability to a dynamic work environment and a commitment to continuous professional development.
A recognized institution must award a Diploma in Community Health, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology.
Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, as these are the primary languages spoken among our research participants.
A minimum of two years of hands-on research experience is required.
Proficiency in REDCAP for data collection is essential.
Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the Nairobi County study area.
