The Technical Manager for Ornamentals and Professional Pest Management (PPM) spearheads the formulation and implementation of Tangent Professional Solutions’ technical support strategy across vital East African markets. This position guarantees robust technical positioning of existing and upcoming products, executes high-quality trial programs, and delivers specialized assistance to commercial teams.
The position entails cultivating and sustaining robust partnerships with customers, influencers, researchers, channel partners, and internal teams to deliver exceptional technical support and reinforce Tangent’s standing as a reliable solutions’ provider. Additionally, the role plays a key part in discovering emerging technologies, third-party opportunities, and potential additions to the portfolio that drive business expansion.
This role is headquartered in Nairobi and entails extensive travel throughout the East African region.
Accountabilities
Assist the SPS Business Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa in formulating and implementing the five-year strategy alongside annual business and campaign plans.
Design, implement, and oversee technical support trials in alignment with crop and public health solutions strategies, while ensuring budgetary compliance in consultation with the SPS Business Manager.
Conduct thorough technical evaluations and strategic positioning of both new and existing products, incorporating competitive benchmarking and market trend analysis to drive informed decision-making.
Provide engaging technical training and collaborative learning experiences for customers, influencers, and partners via field days, demonstration sites, workshops, and industry events.
Work collaboratively with the Territory Product Biologist, Regulatory Manager, and regulatory teams across major markets to synchronize development initiatives and registration priorities.
Develop and sustain a robust network comprising industry professionals, researchers, and internal collaborators to foster innovation, exchange valuable insights, and uncover emerging opportunities.
Craft compelling technical content such as brochures, presentations, technical bulletins, and media articles to enhance product utilization and drive sales efforts.
Gather, evaluate, and disseminate in-market intelligence to shape strategic planning, uncover potential opportunities and risks, and bolster both promotional and defensive initiatives.
Oversee the technical support budget with precision, guaranteeing optimal allocation and utilization of resources.
