Collaborate with the Country Director to design and effectively implement a comprehensive fundraising and business continuity strategy for the Country Office.

Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the currency of the Country Office funding pipeline by systematically monitoring opportunities and tracking proposal status.

Proactively research and monitor prospective funding sources, including private and institutional donors, by leveraging donor intelligence and maintaining strong partner connections.

Craft and uphold resources, including tools, guidelines, and templates, to organize and disseminate donor intelligence data effectively.

Lead preparatory activities for upcoming funding opportunities by identifying and engaging key partners—such as international NGOs, national NGOs, universities, research institutions, and line ministries—to establish collaborative consortia, drafting teaming agreements, and crafting compelling strategies and pitches to enhance proposal success.

Working alongside the Head of Programs, you will arrange and guide visits for donors and prospective partners to WHH Somalia/Somaliland’s operational regions, highlighting key achievements, demonstrating impact, and identifying funding gaps requiring further support.

Develop proposals from inception through completion, assuming full accountability for proposal timelines and ensuring seamless coordination of all contributions. Serve as the lead contributor and primary author of new business proposals, driving the process with precision and expertise.

Spearhead the compilation of evidence briefs, capacity statements, and supplementary documentation. Provide assistance with evidence-gathering activities as deemed necessary.

We seek to establish and nurture connections with prospective donors spanning individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities, with a focus on diversifying the donor base to include non-traditional sources and foundations, particularly in the Gulf states.

Your profile

Seeking a candidate who holds a professional qualification, supplemented by additional certification or vocational training, or possesses equivalent practical experience.

Requires a minimum of seven years of professional experience in the Global South, with at least five years specifically in Somalia.

Professional practitioners with proven on-the-ground experience in the Somali region are sought, characterized by an in-depth knowledge of its humanitarian and development coordination frameworks and aid ecosystem.

Demonstrated success in obtaining institutional funding from prominent bilateral and multilateral donors.

Possesses an in-depth understanding of the Somali funding environment, encompassing established, newly emerging, and prospective donors.

Professional experience in the design and implementation of resilience initiatives within arid and semi-arid environments, with a focus on climate adaptation strategies, livelihood enhancement, and food security interventions.

Capable of fulfilling medical prerequisites for international travel and deployment, including the administration of all required vaccinations.

You understand the increasing importance of data in your profession and are keen to enhance your knowledge and competencies to apply data-driven strategies in your professional activities.

You possess exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken English.
