Lead tax compliance engagements encompassing corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Excise Duty, NSSF, SHIP, Housing Levy, and Installment Tax filings, all managed via tax.
Provide expert tax advisory services encompassing strategic tax planning, transaction structuring, thorough compliance assessments, and optimized tax solutions.
Perform comprehensive evaluations of tax processes and potential tax risks, delivering strategic advice and structured remediation strategies to enhance compliance and mitigate exposures.
Represent clients in engagements with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), including audits, compliance reviews, objection filings, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) proceedings, and appearances before the Tax Appeals Tribunal.
Track legislative and regulatory developments, providing clients with prompt updates and advisory notes.
Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership regarding potential tax, financial, and regulatory risks that may impact the organization and its clientele.
Qualifications & Experience
A Chartered Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA(K)) designation with current, active membership in good standing from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (IC PAK), or an equivalent qualification such as ARCA or Chartered Accountant (CA), is required.
A recognized university degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a closely related discipline is required.
A minimum of three years of progressive experience in tax and audit within a professional services setting is required.
Proven success in business development, demonstrated through measurable achievements such as securing new clients, generating revenue, winning proposals, or expanding market share.
Extensive track record in overseeing full-cycle statutory audit engagements, from initial planning through to final execution.
Proven expertise in advocating on behalf of clients with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is required.
Experience with audit software platforms, including Caneware and Craftwork, or comparable systems, is required.
Proficient in utilizing a range of accounting systems, such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or ERP platforms, with a robust working knowledge of their functionalities and applications.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel with a strong background in data analytics, which would be considered an additional benefit.
