Job Summary

The Utility Technician will oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of pharmaceutical water treatment and compressed air systems, ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality utilities in accordance with GMP and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include process monitoring, conducting routine sampling and testing, diagnosing and resolving issues, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting operations accurately to uphold product quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Oversee daily operations to ensure seamless workflows, prioritizing efficiency and quality standards. Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with organizational objectives, fostering growth and innovation. Lead cross-functional teams by delegating tasks, providing mentorship, and promoting collaboration to achieve collective goals. Monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, driving continuous enhancement in processes and outcomes. Serve as a liaison between departments, facilitating clear communication and resolving conflicts to maintain a cohesive work environment. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies while upholding ethical standards in all decisions.

Operate and oversee water treatment systems such as reverse osmosis (RO), electro deionization (EDI), filtration units, water softeners, ultraviolet (UV) systems, and distribution loops.

Operate and oversee compressed air systems such as compressors, dryers, filters, receivers, and distribution networks.

Perform regular water sampling and analysis to assess various parameters, such as pH, conductivity, microbial presence, and chlorine residuals.

Verify that compressed air quality complies with pharmaceutical industry standards, specifically adhering to ISO 8573 and GMP guidelines.

Conduct regular inspections and carry out preventive maintenance tasks on pumps, valves, filters, membranes, and piping systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Accurately maintain operational logs, maintenance records, and test reports to ensure comprehensive documentation and compliance with established standards.

Responsible for the safe handling of treatment chemicals, ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.

Provide assistance in resolving issues and implementing enhancements to drive ongoing advancements.

Proven experience in [relevant field or role], with a strong foundation in [specific skills or knowledge areas], such as [list key skills]. A Bachelor’s degree in [relevant subject] is required, or equivalent professional experience may be considered. Proficiency in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes would be highly beneficial for this position.

Capable of fulfilling rotating shift assignments encompassing day, evening, and overnight hours.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, is required.
