Read and analyze mechanical drawings, PIDs, and technical manuals to precisely identify and resolve faults.
Implement the planned Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to reduce the occurrence of unplanned downtime effectively.
Perform condition-based monitoring with a focus on vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and ultrasonic leak detection to assess equipment health and identify potential issues.
Ensure full compliance with Lockout-Ragout (LOT) protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
Investigate potential mechanical hazards and document findings while overseeing all mechanical operations to ensure adherence to Food Safety Standards.
Address mechanical failures promptly to minimize operational downtime and restore productivity efficiently.
Collaborate with production teams to identify challenges and deliver expert technical assistance.
Provide support for the installation, commissioning, and mechanical configuration of new equipment.
Maintain detailed, precise records of all maintenance activities performed and parts utilized throughout each procedure.
Conduct thorough root cause analyses on equipment failures and develop corrective actions to eliminate recurrence and enhance reliability.
Propose enhancements to mechanical systems with the goal of bolstering reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. Candidates must possess at least three years of direct experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, are necessary to succeed in this position. Familiarity with project management methodologies is preferred.
A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.
A minimum of six years of experience as a Mechanical Technician within a manufacturing setting is required, with prior work in the food or beverage industry being particularly advantageous.
Skilled in analyzing mechanical drawings, PIDs, and equipment manuals with precision and clarity to ensure accurate understanding and application.
Proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues within mechanical systems such as conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics with a practical, hands-on approach.
Proficiency in utilizing precision maintenance instruments, including laser alignment devices, dial indicators, and torque wrenches, is required.
Possesses a foundational knowledge of the interplay between mechanical systems and their influence on electrical control systems, including components such as limit switches and sensors.
Proficiency in mechanical systems integral to food processing, including sanitary design principles, stainless steel finishes, and compatibility with Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Steam-In-Place (SIP) systems, is required.
