We seek a skilled Mechanical Technician to uphold the peak operational efficiency of all production and processing machinery. Responsibilities encompass executing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing intricate mechanical failures, and assisting with installation and modification initiatives. This position is vital to reducing unplanned downtime, safeguarding product integrity, and fostering a secure workplace in strict adherence to food safety regulations, including GMP and BRC standards.

Oversees a range of critical duties, including but not limited to strategic planning, team leadership, and project execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Drives operational efficiency by optimizing processes, managing resources effectively, and fostering collaboration across departments. Monitors performance metrics to identify trends, address gaps, and implement data-driven improvements. Serves as a liaison between senior management and staff, facilitating clear communication and ensuring policy adherence. Develops and maintains stakeholder relationships to enhance business growth and sustainability.

Conduct systematic mechanical troubleshooting for both routine maintenance and emergency situations involving production equipment.

Read, analyze, and interpret mechanical drawings, PIDs, and technical manuals to accurately identify and diagnose faults.

Implement the planned Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to reduce the likelihood of unplanned downtime and ensure operational reliability.

Perform condition-based monitoring through specialized techniques such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and ultrasonic leak detection.

Ensure strict compliance with Lockout-Ragout (LOT) protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.

Conduct thorough inspections to detect mechanical hazards and verify that all mechanical operations adhere to Food Safety Standards before reporting findings.

Respond swiftly to mechanical failures to resume operations with minimal disruption to production.

Collaborate effectively with production teams to identify challenges and deliver expert technical assistance.

Provide support for the installation, commissioning, and mechanical configuration of new equipment.

Ensure meticulous documentation of all maintenance actions performed and parts utilized.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and recommend corrective measures to mitigate future occurrences.

Propose enhancements to mechanical systems with the goal of improving reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Minimum Qualifications Include: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or business administration. Three or more years of professional experience in project management, operations, or a closely related area. Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across teams and stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding teams toward achieving project objectives. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and best practices in the field.

A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely aligned field, is strongly preferred.

A minimum of six years’ hands-on experience as a Mechanical Technician within a manufacturing setting is required, with prior involvement in food or beverage production serving as an additional benefit.

Skilled in analyzing and comprehending mechanical drawings, PIDs, and equipment manuals with precision and clarity.

Experienced in diagnosing and resolving issues within mechanical systems such as conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics with practical, hands-on expertise.

Proficient in utilizing precision maintenance instruments, including laser alignment devices, dial indicators, and torque wrenches.

Proficiency in the interaction between mechanical components and their influence on electrical control systems, including devices such as limit switches and sensors, is essential.

Possesses a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems essential to food processing, including sanitary design principles, stainless steel finishes, and compatibility with Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilize-in-Place (SIP) systems.
