Develop and implement a targeted retail strategy that aligns with designated customer segments, product offerings, sales channels, and distribution frameworks while operating within approved risk parameters.

Offer executive leadership and strategic direction to the branch network, fostering expansion in deposit growth, high-quality lending initiatives, customer acquisition efforts, and transactional volumes.

Deliver robust Retail Banking financial results by expanding profitability, augmenting deposit and lending volumes, and optimizing operational efficiency in alignment with established business objectives.

Meet agreed individual performance targets and ensure achievement of Retail Banking business objectives in line with the Bank’s performance management framework.

Ensure disciplined expansion of retail lending while maintaining full accountability for portfolio performance, with a focus on reducing non-performing loans (NPLs), enhancing recovery efforts, facilitating restructures, and implementing targeted remediation strategies.

Enhance credit underwriting standards, portfolio monitoring processes, early warning systems, and risk controls to mitigate the recurrence of historical asset quality challenges.

Establish and uphold rigorous performance benchmarks for Branch Managers and Retail teams, encompassing key areas such as sales targets, service quality, regulatory adherence, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation strategies.

Drive efforts to enhance operational efficiency, automate processes, transition channels, and optimize costs, thereby boosting productivity while lowering the overall cost-to-serve.

Maintain rigorous adherence to CBK regulations, internal policies, audit mandates, and governance standards within the Retail Banking function.

Foster a high-performance, accountable, customer-centric, and risk-aware culture by leading, motivating, and developing Retail Banking teams to drive excellence and sustainable results.

We seek to uncover strategic growth opportunities, collaborating closely with the marketing and product development teams to conceptualize, price, and introduce customized products and services for retail and high-value clients. Additionally, we are responsible for tracking and evaluating their performance to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Work with branch managers to strategize and ensure turnaround of loss-making branches.

Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. A minimum of five years of professional experience in software development is necessary. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team are critical. Familiarity with database management systems and cloud computing platforms is preferred. Excellent communication skills for documenting technical specifications and collaborating with stakeholders are important.

A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline is required.

A master’s degree, such as an MBA or equivalent, along with relevant professional qualifications, is highly beneficial.

A minimum of twelve years of professional experience in the banking sector is required, including at least five years in a senior management capacity.

Strategic vision and a strong grasp of commercial dynamics are essential.
