Oversee a range of critical duties encompassing the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and deadlines. As Secretary to the University Council and its Committees, you will chair the Management Board, Senate, and other University Committees as outlined in the Statutes.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of direct experience in a comparable role, preferably within a corporate or nonprofit setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential, along with strong analytical and organizational skills. The ideal applicant will demonstrate exceptional communication abilities—both written and verbal—to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field is required, though advanced education or certifications are advantageous. Prior experience with project management tools and data analysis is highly desirable.

Applicants are required to have the following qualifications:

A doctorate degree obtained from an accredited university is required, with prior experience in a professorial role considered a valuable asset.

A decade or more of senior academic and administrative expertise is essential, with demonstrated success in educational leadership roles, such as Deputy Vice-Chancellor or equivalent positions. (Prior experience as a Dean or Principal within a college setting would be particularly beneficial.)

Strategically led initiatives with measurable success, driving impactful results through decisive leadership and visionary planning.

Demonstrated expertise in guiding research initiatives, fostering innovation, and overseeing academic governance structures.

Renowned for a prolific academic and research background, with a substantial number of publications in prestigious, internationally circulated peer-reviewed journals and a history of delivering presentations at global conferences.

Demonstrated expertise in securing resources, overseeing financial operations, and strengthening institutional capacity.

A proven track record in cultivating professional relationships, securing funding, building strategic alliances, and acquiring essential resources—such as research grants—is required.

Demonstrated success in spearheading transformative initiatives while consistently achieving quantifiable outcomes.

Demonstrates unwavering ethical standards, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to upholding good governance principles as outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
