Objective
Our healthcare client is seeking a Theatre Nurse to enhance perioperative services through collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the broader multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout surgical procedures.
Oversee and execute key responsibilities that include managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to organizational standards. Lead initiatives to drive efficiency, optimize workflows, and deliver measurable outcomes in alignment with strategic objectives. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, facilitating communication and resolving conflicts to maintain project momentum. Monitor progress through regular assessments, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate challenges. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all assigned functions.
Prepare operating theaters meticulously and verify that all equipment undergoes thorough sterilization to ensure readiness for surgical procedures.
Support surgical and anesthesia teams throughout procedures by efficiently delivering required instruments and ensuring adherence to sterile protocols.
Monitor patients’ vital signs throughout the perioperative period, including preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively, to ensure accurate and timely assessment of their physiological status.
Deliver comprehensive nursing care before and after surgical procedures, encompassing patient education and counselling services.
Deliver comprehensive scrub, circulating, and recovery nursing care across a diverse spectrum of surgical specialties.
Maintain rigorous adherence to aseptic protocols and infection prevention guidelines.
Attend departmental meetings, engage in continuous medical education (CME) programs, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, proper medication usage, and strategies for preventive healthcare.
Actively engage in evaluating patients, developing treatment strategies, creating care plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring consistent follow-up care.
Accurately document surgical procedures and patient progress in detailed records.
Maintain strict compliance with infection prevention and control standards within the operating theater environment to safeguard patient and staff safety.
Ensure the safe handling of specimens while maintaining accurate documentation for laboratory analysis.
Provide assistance during emergency surgical procedures as needed.
Seeking candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of three years of professional experience in software development required. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary. Familiarity with version control systems like Git and experience with Agile methodologies are preferred. Excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively within a team environment are also required.
Earn a Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) to qualify for this vital role.
Higher Diploma in Peri-operative Nursing is required for this role, ensuring candidates possess specialized expertise in surgical care environments.
Licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya, the incumbent is required to hold a valid and current registration as a professional nurse in good standing with the regulatory body.
A minimum of one to two years of hands-on clinical practice is required.
