At our organization, we are committed to delivering on a solemn pledge: to uphold unwavering integrity, prioritize customer satisfaction, and foster innovation in all our endeavors. This commitment encompasses every project we undertake, ensuring that our actions consistently align with ethical standards and exceed the expectations of those we serve. Through transparency, accountability, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, we strive to create lasting value for our stakeholders while maintaining a forward-thinking approach to problem-solving and opportunity creation.
We facilitate the transportation of critical goods—those essential to saving lives, nourishing populations, advancing infrastructure, and driving economic growth—across the African continent. In this role, we seek a Sales and Technical Proposal Representative who excels at transforming Africa’s most challenging logistics challenges into pathways for opportunity and progress.
The Opportunity
A highly motivated sales professional with 1 to 2 years of experience and strong technical proficiency is sought to fill the role of Technical Proposal Writer. The preferred candidate will have a proven track record in crafting compelling, meticulously prepared proposals for clients in the Oil & Gas industry, as well as UN agencies, NGOs, and international development organizations.
You will oversee the entire proposal development lifecycle—beginning with RFP evaluation and culminating in submission—while upholding our C.A.R.E. Culture principles.
We are seeking a candidate who embodies the C.A.R.E. profile, demonstrating the qualities necessary for success in this role. You will be expected to exhibit a strong commitment to Collaboration, actively engaging with colleagues to foster a cohesive and productive team environment. Respect underpins all interactions, as you will treat others with dignity and professionalism while valuing diverse perspectives. Finally, Excellence is non-negotiable; you will strive to deliver high-quality results consistently, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
You must demonstrate an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction by responding to inquiries within 15 minutes or sooner, as required. Prioritizing client needs above all else is essential, and you should maintain prompt, urgent communication at all times.
You demonstrate a proactive approach by focusing on solutions rather than justifying problems. Accountability is a cornerstone of your work ethic—you acknowledge errors, maintain composure in challenging situations, and consistently take the lead without being prompted.
You proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact clients, addressing underlying causes rather than merely treating visible symptoms.
You prioritize empathy in your interactions, attentively listening before responding, and demonstrating a deep understanding of the distinct challenges faced by clients in Africa. Your approach is guided by strong ethical principles and a grounded awareness of real-world dynamics.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Additionally, you will be tasked with analyzing data to identify trends and insights, which will inform strategic decision-making processes. The role requires meticulous attention to detail in preparing reports and presentations, as well as fostering strong stakeholder relationships to facilitate seamless communication and project execution. You will also oversee the implementation of initiatives, monitor progress, and address any challenges to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
Facilitate comprehensive proposal development from initial research through to final submission for Oil & Gas entities, as well as UN agencies including WFP, UNICEF, and UNDP, and major international donors such as USAID, the EU, and FCDO.
Evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Invitations to Bid (Its), and other proposal solicitations to confirm they align with Shine Maritime’s logistics and supply chain competencies.
Ensure strict adherence to oil and gas and donor-established guidelines, as well as internationally recognized humanitarian standards, including the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) and the Sphere Standards, while aligning operational efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Collaborate with partners, consultants, and sub-grantees to assemble and submit consortium bids efficiently.
Maintain a centralized proposal customer relationship management (CRM) database that stores past submissions, standard content templates, and donor-related insights.
Facilitate the enhancement of internal teams’ capabilities in crafting proposals through the implementation of industry-leading best practices.
