Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager, you will serve as a pivotal strategic liaison between the sales team and customers, facilitating the conversion of business opportunities into customized wireless communication solutions. Within the Texas Sales Team, this position demands a thorough grasp of customer needs, industry obstacles, and shifting market trends to craft and promote innovative network solutions that support client goals. You will collaborate closely with the sales team to refine successful strategies, design persuasive technical proposals, and communicate compelling value propositions that set the company apart in today’s fiercely competitive wireless landscape.

The position demands leadership in customer engagements, involving presentations, solution demonstrations, and strategic discussions that translate intricate technologies into actionable business benefits. Working closely with cross-functional partners—such as product management, engineering, and delivery—the Senior Manager – Presales guarantees solution viability and smooth implementation. Furthermore, this role elevates win rates, expedites deal finalization, and bolsters customer confidence, thereby driving revenue expansion and reinforcing the organization’s competitive standing.

Serves as the central coordinator of the comprehensive, multi-tier sales process, guaranteeing the successful finalization of agreements.

Duties include cultivating and nurturing customer and prospect relationships to effectively promote products, services, and solutions.

Displays exceptional sales expertise, coupled with comprehensive technical and commercial insight into telecom sectors—encompassing optical transport networks and wireless technologies (4G/5G RAN and core solutions)—to ensure client success and secure orders while driving revenue growth.

Constructs and guides a top-performing team of presales and support professionals across the region.

Directs every customer interaction, overseeing negotiations, crafting tailored proposals, and finalizing contractual agreements to ensure successful deal closures.

Our main performance indicator is business expansion, specifically measured by order intake.

Drives the development of new business prospects throughout East Africa by engaging directly with customers and implementing customized, client-focused strategies.

Formulates and implements comprehensive regional sales strategies, assuming full responsibility for cultivating and maintaining customer relationships while achieving autonomous sales objectives.

Oversees the full spectrum of the sales process, encompassing initial outreach and cold calling through to the successful conclusion of orders, while maintaining consistent and meaningful customer interactions each day.

Conducts pricing strategies grounded in detailed, account-specific market intelligence.

Oversees all facets of the annuity business, which encompasses annual maintenance contract services, with a primary focus on optimizing on-time renewal rates.

Mandatory Skills: Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and experience with relevant software tools. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations or standards may also be required.

With over a decade of hands-on sales experience, you have established a strong reputation in direct sales, successfully engaging with Internet Service Providers, Fiber Network Operators, Wholesale Bandwidth providers, and Mobile Operators.

With a minimum of five years’ experience in sales, ideally within East Africa, you will have cultivated robust industry relationships, with a particular emphasis on the telecommunications sector in Kenya.

Proven capability to cultivate and sustain high-level executive connections, ultimately fostering deep, collaborative partnerships built on mutual trust and credibility.

Proficient in Telecom domain expertise, technology, and the operational framework of telecommunication environments.

Seeking candidates with a robust skill set encompassing proficient communication abilities, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and a keen attention to detail. The ideal applicant should demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills, along with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools, as well as a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, are highly desirable. Prior experience in a similar role or industry is preferred, and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs is essential. A solid educational background in a relevant field is required, and professional certifications, where applicable, will be considered advantageous.

Proficient in articulating the technical advantages of the offering and adept at reframing them into compelling business benefits through a consultative sales methodology.

Demonstrates a consistent history of successfully overseeing substantial and intricate sales transactions while reliably achieving or surpassing predetermined objectives.

A master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a comparable qualification is highly advantageous.

Considerable travel throughout East Africa will be necessary to fulfill the role’s obligations.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting. Experience in data analysis, financial modeling, or reporting is highly desirable, along with proficiency in tools like Excel, SQL, or Power BI. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, alongside excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Familiarity with ERP systems and prior experience in a similar role are advantageous.

Education requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering, with preference given for candidates holding an MBA in Sales & Marketing.
